Covering the steal as 2B

Is there something I am missing or do I just have to hold right the entire time to let a base hit go in case someone steals? Is it just that badly coded and if not what was their intention behind it being so tedious?
-
I was just about to post this same topic. I started a 2b last night and even if I break to 2nd right as the pitcher releases and I see the runner go, I never make it to the base before the catcher throws to me. And speed is 80 so my player isn’t super slow

I seem to remember this from last year, but I could be misremembering.

Yup this is from last year as well; seems like it never got addressed.

I finally did it got my first out covering 2nd on a steal and it was purely because I basically walked my player over there prior to the pitcher throwing the ball. This is not correct but was so frustrated over my player just taking 4 steps towards 2nd and then catching the ball 10 ft from the base while baserunner easily has a free bag. What gives, they really need to patch it as this is beyond frustrating.

If you are playing on PS, hold L2 and Triangle. It auto-runs you to the base.
-
Keep an eye on the count if it is an 0-0 count get ready to run to second same for 1-0 and sometimes 1-1 count. That seems to be the only time they steal
-
Yep, all last year this happened. Not sure if they will ever care enough to actually fix it.
-
It's only in playerlock (Franchise, RTTS, a handful of MTO moments) which means that SDS doesn't care at all because it doesn't affect DD.

Would this also work if playing a first baseman?! Most of the time the white circle shows up around the first base bag and my guy will lock onto it with now problem when I run there, but sometimes the circle doesn't show up at all and he just runs right by it or just short of it. It almost always happens when the batter bunts and occasionally on some grounders to the middle infielders on the next play after a bunt. It’s so frustrating. I’m going to have to try this later tonight and let you know if it fixes that issue.
-
Hmm. I assume so but haven’t ever tried it.

Hey guys hate to tag you because I’m sure you get spammed but could we get a comment on this issue and some visibility on where it is at on the teams radar. It really ruins 2B immersion.
