You're not the only one, I too have actively complaining about the graphics and animations for the past 4 years on here. Literally MLB The Show 21 has the same exact stiff looking jerseys with wrinkles in the same spots since the PS3 Era. So that's well over a decade.

Sadly, to reflect on that only shines the spoghtlight that... while SDS does make a solid baseball game, their workload has only grown more intense, without additional time between releases. HIGHLIGHTING the issue that we may not see any meaningful improvements in graphics, or smoother more accurate animations.

It's not free on Game Pass. That comment is such a misnomer. "Free on Game Pass"... that you actively pay a fee for. Some people have a real problem comprehending free.

I think there will be more server problems then.

And if they don't solve it i think i won't buy it.

It won't have a smooth launch. SDS is now under more pressure and stress with the increased workload, with the same time period they struggled with while developing for just the PS3... then the PS4, now to the PS5, and all 13 Xbox's. And now they have to develop MLB The Show on a Can Opener known as the Switch

The “leaps and bounds” portion of development is a thing of the past at this point. Short of a technological breakthrough, future enhancements are going to be minor.

You're talking about straight up graphics. Yeah, we won't see many advancements in that department.

I'm talking about the actual gameplay. How the players move. How exciting it is to see your "Diamond" player make an amazing play compared to your "bronze" player. Besides the player name and number, it would kinda all look the same. They got the different batting stances in there at least I guess

I'm talking about everything. From the graphics, to the same reused animations, clunky transitions from practice awing to batting stances. As I said same fit of their Jerseys from the PS3 era. Heck, if you go through all if the Batting Stances and Picthing animations you'll notice several are the same, but counted as separate. This just isn't even a debatable.

Some comments are being ridiculous. Yes MLB The Show 21 looks good. And better than last gen version, HOWEVER! MLB The Show 22 could look much better. This is a sports game for christs sakes. This isn't an Open World RPG, with severe particle effects, dynamic weather, and a several enemies attacking you at the same time in a variety of ways.

Stop sticking up for laziness. SDS is taking our money for a product we want and care about. Ask for better.

I'm right there with you. There are just way too many assets being re-used from YEARS ago. Not sure if I said it in this thread or a different one, but the "Too early" swing and miss animation is exactly the same one they used in The Show '07 on PSP. Like, Really? In a video game that every session is basically exactly the same thing. It's baseball. We pitch, hit, defense. There isn't any crazy graphical/technical gameplay going on.

Complete overhaul is very much needed. BUT it's the only real MLB video game in the market so we're kinda screwed..

Exactly. And the thing that is particularly frustrating is PlayStation's alleged "demand" (for lack of better term) for good, quality titles known for their attention to detail, and polish. And I am not saying the whole of MLB The Show is poor. It isn't, it is for the most part fairly good. But it could be MUCH BETTER. Especially with it's animations, and it's graphics.

I remember back in the 5th, 6th and early 7th Gen when Sports games used to show off the capabilities of the hardware. Around the middle of the PS3's generation that for some reason stopped.

We all understand that yearly releases make it hard, while now "maintaining" a game for about 6 months and to develop a sequel. But while maintaining a game makes it hard, you now also have a cash flow from the ridiculous slot machine simulator in Diamond Dynasty.

I believe we should be seeing larger graphical leaps, and Jersey animations in The Show. These Jerseys fit, and reacts stiffly. Nearly the exact same way as the Show 13 on PS3. Cmon now. Have some pride SDS. Especially now that you're fully Mulit-Platform.

That's the dumb thing about the socks. Don't tie attributes to them, if they don't match your team uniform. Or, if you do allow them to have a Team Skin option.

I am frustrated that the best Stance Socks are the ones for Jackie, or Tatis socks don't match my team uniform

My team signed Aaron Nola in the off-season to an astronomical deal. 10 years almost 400 million dollar deal. But I seen he was about to turn 30. And the deal would only hurt my team due to we would only get 6 years max of productivity out of him. So, I reloaded my prior save. Yeah, go sink some other franchise.

Corey Kluber won the Cy Young in 2017 going 18-4. He has 26 wins total since and 20 of those came in 2018.

As I said in my posts there are instances. But Klubers issues stem from injuries, not ability as we are seeing with him in NY.

This is every single player, falling off a cliff at 36, and are out of the league in 2 years.

As the title states. This is the Gold Glove discussion thread. I am curious if anyone has won a Gold Glove yet. And if you have, at what position? What year were you in? Have you finished in the top 3? Do you have multiple GG?

Personally, because I restarted my RTTS Character a couple times. My current run I am in year 3. And finished 3rd in the GG race. In all of my years of RTTS I have never won a GG. I always play infield. And it seems as though I always come up short due to the lack of Outs and Assists (aka Total Opportunities, due to the obvious simming nature of RTTS) to win it.

How isn't this fixed yet? I have posted about it for a few years now. And I have seen several other posts in regards to drastic drop offs in players.

For example Clayton Kershaw wins the Pitching Triple Crown, and MVP in my RTTS last year at 35. He turned the (apparently, according to the Show) dreaded cliff Age of 36. Where he drops -16 in all categories. This is getting ridiculous now. Pitcher's regularly pitch into their 40's.

Maddux, Glavine, Johnson, Moyer, Clemens, Lee, Verlander. All had good seasons at 36+ years of age. What are we doing here?

I get some Pitcher's decline at age 36. But every player despite their potential drop off a steep cliff and are out of the league in the Show quickly. This is asinine.

FIX IT

Wow. So I was getting frustrated with not being able to hit home runs. So I drop it to Beginner. Went a whole month without a dinger. Then I bump the sliders power to full. Went another month without a dinger!

My Power is vs R 114, Contact is 92, Vision is 90. Vs Left 90, 110..... This is hilarious

If you're going to require that we always be online, then your [censored] servers should always be online. BUT RTTS SHOULD NOT BE ALWAYS ONLINE.

And who does maintenance on a Saturday Evening!?

OH MY GOD. Here we go again. Why am I getting kicked from The Show Online because it says you guys are doing "Routine Maintenance" on a Saturday Evening!? A SATURDAY EVENING?

This is so frustrating! I just want to play my RTTS. And I shouldn't be required to be connected to your servers!

Aw, I'd hate to do that. But can completely understand the move. This is my 2nd character and I didn't have this issue on my 1st guy in the AL.

That said, just started my 2nd season. They coach came up to me and asks what I'd like to focus on in Spring Training. Would have liked to focus on Fielding! But nope, checked the Batting Lineup and I am the DH. And the team signed some scrub guy who's 2nd position is 3rd base, to play my primary position. Looked at his attributes and they are only slightly better than mine. If I only was able to take advantage of all those Double XP training to better my fielding!

I just love being a DH (NOT), I'd actually like to play 3rd base. And the coach always telling me to work on my fielding and gives me XP bonuses to work on my fielding, Arm Strength, and Accuracy yet I do not get any defensive playing time. It is so frustrating

Same. Tired of it as well. This launch has been rough. The worst yet. Obviously SDS is struggling with the extra workload, while working through a pandemic.

The servers are a pain too.

Dear God, the servers are absolutely laughable this year. NETWORK ERROR, after Network Error after Network Error.

How the hell am I supposed to level up my programs, and so on if SDS can't keep their servers up!?

Do not ever tie Progression to servers again. If you expect us to be online, your servers should always be online and reliable as well. Just trying to enjoy RTTS becomes worse because the loading after a game trying to find your lack of connection!

Yes I did a training pre patch and was barley getting 1 point towards something if that when my rating was in the 30's. Now post patch I got plus 3 to durability and plus 2 speed from just one training session

I've trained several times today and am still having the same very small, minute gains.
