Almost every game? I’ve had this happen vs me a handful of times in probably ~350 Ranked games this year. If the game is a World Series game or close to it then I understand the strategy as it should be all hands on deck.

There needs to be a punishment for this.

they cant implement a punishment for something that is out of their control. They wouldnt be able to determine if it was an actual dashboard or a power/connection drop.

Well he usually makes some claim about giving his PlayStation to his nephew or quitting the game. Then a few days later he starts a new PSN account to “fool” us.

You can play it, but i believe you won’t get all the preorder pack and stubs. Pretty sure I did this in ‘21 because I used had 2 accounts.

You yourself called him an "all-time great player [who] did everything on the field". Maybe it's just semantics, but it sounded like you were placing him in the highest of echelons which I don't think he qualifies for.

I believe he is an all-time great player for many reasons having watched his entire career from start to finish.

I do not believe that puts him in the top-10 all time ranks of players to step on the field as the players you mentioned above.

While I think he’s being a baby I don’t think he’s wrong about Jeters speed. The game is different now, steals are rare nowadays. Steals also don’t necessarily equal speed. Jeter should probably max around 80 speed if they want to be generous. His best card will probably be able to reach 90 tho

Why is Jeter on top of a building? That's all I'm wondering. Didn't he play shortstop?

If he was an iron worker I'd understand it a little better

I’m a Union Ironworker and a lifelong Yankee fan and I have no issue with Jeter on top of a building.

I do take issue with “light hitting defensive shortstop”. The Jeter hate is so ridiculous. It makes me wonder if many of you have actually followed baseball for any appreciable amount of time. He is an all-time great player. He did everything on the field and was as cool/calm a player that came through clutch time and time again.

Jeter played for 20 years and only twice did he lead shortstops in offensive WAR.

Buddy wasn't even the best shortstop on the team....

He did lead the league in giving famous women STD's tho

Please give me the list of SS who played 20 years at SS and had a career batting avg over .300.

Here’s where I miss counting stats. I get it, advanced Sabre Metrics are important. Sure, they make reading a baseball article akin to a calculus paper and completely rob the sport of its romanticism, but they give us things like launch angle and the shift. Maybe I’m old, but I miss looking at a baseball card to see how many RBIs a guy had or how many times he touched home plate. Not an OPS+ that requires Will Hunting to figure out the equation.

Jeter is 6th all time in hits. 6th. For all the players who have stood in a major league batter’s box in the last 140+ years, there are 5 people with more hits than Derek Jeter. 5!!!!! This should be the end of the debate on whether he was a great player. But if more is needed. He has 5 rings. In modern baseball, that is Brady Esque. He’s 10th all time in Runs. These are not negligible stats.

Is he the GOAT? Of course not. But he was a star player in the biggest market and all he did there was win, hit and score.

By not giving up shortstop? You think that cost the team Championships? If anything it probably prolonged Arod’s career since he dealt with injuries later on.

99 Cueto
99 Jenkins

My lineup is also full 99s including Trout, Larry Walker, Eddie Murray. These cards were all free.

One side of me likes this, it's late in the cycle anyway so who cares. But there is also a part of me that feels bad for all the people who grinded the entire year to build a good team only to see people like me being able to build an absolute goon squad without any real effort.

How do you guys feel about this? Happy with this development or would you prefer the older style of exclusivity when it comes to end game cards?

I think it’s good they do this to give the late starters a chance to try most of the top cards. Someone who starts this late most likely won’t get the top Collections done so they will still be short a few of the best cards in the game, but at least they can still field a top-tier team that can compete with anyone.

Of course we can play for fun but I wish there were some type of program for year long players. I’m a lot like you with grinding the game and collecting everything so I get it that at the end of the year it’s harder to sign on with “nothing” to play for. I have two suggestions you could try.

1.Play with an Alt account. You can spend a few months messing around with a team that doesn’t have EVERY card available to you and maybe use some cards you haven’t in a while. Maybe Redo some programs you may have enjoyed.

2.Play Ranked...a lot. I know you say you struggle online. Now is a perfect time to get a ton of reps in while you don’t have to worry about completing other programs like you will come April. If you get frustrated with hitting then you can always play the Event since it’s only common pitchers right now. I’m pretty decent at this game and I just made World Series today for the first time this year. That’s because I finally put all my effort and focus into Ranked and I got better. I think it would be good for you.

Geez it’s been a grind. I’ve bouncing back and forth between mid-700s and mid 800’s for basically the entire year. I’m someone who usually grinds everything in this game, complete every program, BR, Events, collect every “Legend and FB, etc. Sometimes I let that get me too far away from Ranked. Ranked is it’s own animal in this game. I just personally can’t go back and forth between the slower pitch speeds and then adjust for Ranked. So the last couple of weeks I would sign on and just go immediately into Ranked. I noticed I got a lot more comfortable and consistent hitting on HOF this way. I had a lot of tough losses and a few disconnect/freeze off losses, but I was able to just keep grinding and accomplish the year long goal.

I mostly play at night. Today I got home from work early and knew I was ~4 wins away from WS so I figured I’d give it a shot. Started 3-0 on HOF vs all opponents in the 800s(first guy quit after he hit in the top of the 1st???).

Then game 4 I get a game on Legend. I asked for a Friendly and he denied. It was an absolutely miserable game. He hit a solo in the first with his CAP and I hit one with Boggs in the 4th. Went to the 11th and I hit a two-out pinch hit HR with MA Bo Bichette to go up 3-1. Wagner came on and gave up a two out RBI single to his pinch hitter Vlad Sr., but then blew a high fastball past Reynolds to close out the game.

In total we each had 4 hits. I struck out 23 times and he struck out 22(and he was ranked 955). Legend is not for me. I wish they would adjust it so you only had to play on HOF until you make WS. Once you get there you can play on Legend if you choose.

Just have to make another PSN account with a different email. Then go to “switch user” and click on the new PSN you created. Start the game up and go!

Haha I’m not a huge fan either and I noticed he doesn’t get a lot of views on his bids compared to the other guys. He’s a very good player though.

2 night ago I matched up vs a player who I recognized from YouTube(i guess he streams on Twitch too, but I don’t use that). His name is Trumanation and I looked him up and he’s #27 overall in the standing for 2022. I knew right away it would probably be a YT video because I noticed he had an all-First basemen team build. I expected to get mercied because he is a far superior player, but I managed to hold my own and go the distance, losing 11-8. The game was on HOF. First time I ended up on someone’s YouTube channel. I’d use Britton and Hand before Pomeranz. It will definitely help balance your bullpen.

How are you doing with those cards? There are so many possibilities to put together a top-tier team this year with all the 99s in the game. It’s hard to tell one person they should take a certain card out because that person might love that card.

A few questions that might make you consider tweaking things. Do you prefer hitting with RH hitters over LH? I try and keep a fairly balanced lineup with RH, LH and Switch hitters but I tend to be stronger with LH hitters.

Also I would suggest more LH relievers. I count 1 in your pen. I usually have an even split of 4 RH and 4 LH. Wagner, Chapman, Alvarado, Hand, Britton are all solid options.
