I’ve played one toxic guy who threw randy and then cole hamels. Had z2 hits off of randy, lost 3-1. Overall I’ve had fun, it’s pretty much been close games with a few big games
So it’s toxic to use good pitchers now? Sheesh

A. We all experience people R2 spamming, we just don’t exaggerate it to the point you do to make it seem like EVERY opponent does it all game.
B. We know it’s you Shawnchez, we don’t have to be 20 year-seasoned detectives to see that every one of your accounts that you’ve started has posted in the exact same manner since day one. We don’t know why you do it, but we know it’s you.

The cards are going to play to their stats, modified by my performance, but that's equal across them all. I'm going to play better with the better card. That being said, these cards are [censored] close. Carter has far better contact L, Power L & R, and elite vision. He also has a good bit more speed. But his contact R is seriously lacking, his defense is slightly worse, and Adley switch hits. I think if Adley didn't switch or Carter had like 85 contact R it would be a much easier decision.

I don’t agree with that line of thinking. You can have a card with amazing attributes that you just can’t hit with and vice versa. My best hitter this year so far is FOTF Devers and I have plenty of cards on my team with better attributes.
I really haven’t used Carter this year, but I’d choose the Adley card over him any day. Has a good swing and being a switch hitter makes him even more valuable.

It’s probably one of the easiest showdowns I have done. It’s all Mini/Final Boss missions vs Oswalt, Hamels and all the Halladay cards.

One thing SDS does with this game is say that it tries to emulate simulation baseball but still catering to the arcade/simulation mix style of play. Yes it looks and feel like you’re playing a “real” baseball game but it does not play like a simulation baseball game. If this game is supposed to be a simulation baseball game it should be skill based, not rng when pitching and hitting. If you want everyone to play you’re game and then program it to cater to everyone’s play style say that, instead of saying “ the game is hitting as intended” but then I’m the same breath promote it as if you’re actually on the mound or in the batters box and your input matters when it doesn’t. The problem is that anyone can play this game which is not fair in a sense. If someone that plays this game to have fun has the same chance of winning no matter his players, rating, or if they aren’t good vs a player who is actually good solely bc everything in this game is based on rng and “circumstances” isn’t fair. Yes I know you want everyone that likes baseball to play and buy your game, I get that. That’s the problem with only have one baseball game. The developers straggles the fence of programming the game for a specific type of gameplay they put out. That’s why good players says this hitting engine is garbage and the same with pitching. The play style caters to everyone’s wants and needs which they can’t do bc only percentage of people is going to be content with this game. This game is like if there was on one war game. Imagine playing battlefield playing like battlefield, cod, Fortnite, and pubg all in the same game. That one game would have to try and make 1 war like game for the mass. That’s what we have in this , madden, and 2k. Their gameplay all Tries to fit for everyone. Like I say, this game is like a very very toxic relationship. You get in an argument, take a break. Once you forget about things you come back knowing what your going to get and expect different but nothing changes and you repeat the process over and over. lol Dude, that formatting feels like the script in Oregon Trails in the 80s. Why?

Even if you're not good you can get good old rng wins... I had 11 1-2 counts to start, and 4 full counts. My opponent had three 2 strike counts the entire game to start. Six 3-1 counts. Absolutely done with this event, not remotely balanced.
So 1 game? Solid sample size.

Why? It’s on All-Star. Dig in and take some cuts...and don’t worry about them pressing R2.
@dabutrader_psn said in DD approach this year:
I'd be ok with the current program if they fixed the gameplay aspects. I like the pxp aspect, would prefer a team like program over pxp, but whatever, it's not bad. Hitting is terrible, also hate the perfect/perfect out (fouls, dbl plays, etc), and am really tired of pitching in the double digits to each batter half the time. I want to enjoy the game of baseball, I want to get a hit IDC if its a dinger, but I dont want to pitch for 2 hours for a couple conquest games.
A lot of people say hitting is terrible, but don’t explain what they mean. Are you having trouble hitting or is it too easy?
Also, what level are you playing your conquest games on and how are you pitching vs the CPU? I’m assuming that was an extreme exaggeration. Most conquest games probably take me between 10-15 mins.
It’s definitely just you. It hasn’t been brought up 899 times already.

I was playing a CPU game last night, pitching with Bob Gibson and when he came up to bat the commentary spent all the time talking about his walk off home run in the in the 1988 world series. I have heard a lot of commentary that did not match up with the situation in the game but this one made me shake my head a little more than usual. Makes me wonder if they will occasionally talk about Bob Gibson when Kirk Gibson bats?

I played an online game where my opponent was using Bob Gibson and they said the same comment. Neither of us even had Kirk Gibson on our rosters.
I know people complain about the commentary every year. It’s usually just boring and repetitive but this year they make so many mistakes. They are wrong about players, how many outs, the count, it’s ridiculous how often they are wrong. I’ll bring a pitcher in for a 1 out save and they say it’s his first career win and it was a complete game every time.
@cdnmoneymaker93_xbl said in Guess it's time:
I question these complaints it's every day this is happening to you, I have played events and BR all week and have had pretty much no issues of course there is always 1 or 2 that abuse it. But with you it's everyday which leads me to beleive that issue might actually be you
Exactly and 99% of the time if you face a player doing what you claim, they are terrible and very beatable.
A few days ago in the last event I faced the only player that I would consider a goon-type player to do this. He was 26-1 in Ranked and the whole team was over .400 avg and a few players over .500(including .650 with Ketel Marte in like 50 ABs.). This guy was holding R2 every pitch from the first pitch of the game. I thought it was weird because someone who can hit like that doesn’t need to cheese or try and get an advantage, but whatever. Those players are extremely rare.
I grinded out the conquest late last night and got a Chase pack from one of them packs I earned and got Delgado as well! Every now and then the grind pays off.
What stadium are you in? My last few were when my opponent picked a MLB stadium. No idea if that is a factor or not, but if it trends that way I’ll probably be requesting FQ’s anytime I see one.
Sorry for your loss Shawnchez.

If you had done the collection already then you can’t sell the cards. You’re stuck with 2 of each player.
You can use the duplicates for exchanges or I think you can quicksell for 5k or whatever they are worth this year.

I agree. Same as the HOF events last year. I wish every mode played exactly like HOF events with whatever they do to the sliders. If I could play Ranked in the 700-800s and it felt like this I would love it.
