For sure!! In earlier editions of the game I would put points towards my player and cap myself around the “just good enough for majors, too good for the minors” realm. I would also list my secondary position as INF. This generally gave me a career as a utility infield bench player. I would get around 300 ABs a year and play all four infield positions. Sometimes only used as a pinch hitter or pinch runner. Sometimes as a defensive replacement. Kept the game interesting not knowing what your role would be from game to game. Seasons would fly by as you were involved in maybe 40% of the games. You could easily finish an entire career by the next year’s edition.

Can you imagine SDS ever creating the Utility Bench Player archetype?! 😂

Today ke’bryan hayes hit a ball over the fence against the dodgers, but missed first base and was eventually called out.

Just thought it was funny. The pirates have had a rough go the last couple weeks of adding to the blooper reels. But, I do have to say that I hope to go to that stadium some day. It looks beautiful.

I didn’t go in the stadium but did eat at the Outback Steakhouse a couple of times that is connected in right field and windows open up into it. It looks quite nice. I went there for a steelers game. Whole downtown Pittsburgh is pretty cool with the bridges imo.

I wish they would like implement an automatic 20second timer deduction every time the game is paused. Would really ruin it for those who pause every pitch to be annoying but still not be too damaging to those who need to go in to their pen.

Pause timer in this game is far too generous.

Who are you to say what others should be doing in order to get cards? Not everybody wants to grind mindless Innings against the computer or do Showdown 20 times like it's a job. I will gladly exchange a whole bunch of cards to not have to do that [censored].

After thinking about it and playing on my broken monitor tonight, I’m going to get the monitor you’ve suggested.

Right now I’m using an hdmi cable that is probably 15 years old. Do I need to invest in a new one? If so, any recommendation?

Good choice man! Yes, I would definitely get a new one, 4k. Amazon has great options for dirt cheap

grounders up the middle or the hole on right side or that tiny perfect spot in between 3rd and ss. Or those hard liners that a power hitter hits straight to the OF and he doesnt have to move- those drop in for Clemente

Thanks all. That’s what I figured. I did realize after about 10 that the visual was talking about the right analog stick and that helped. But, it seems it’s guaranteed to be a force out at second. So, I’m always right where I started but with my pitcher on base.

I’ll try the up technique next time.

Well I mean if you have a super slow runner on first, yeah you’ll likely hit into a fielder’s choice and even worst, a double play.

Bunt attributes do matter also. I’ve noticed it’s way easier to pull off a phenomenal bunt with high attributes.

Also, don’t try to drag bunt with the pitcher. Those never work. Just go straight bunt

I usually have someone with adequate speed on base. I also try to sneak an extra step. And still nothing.

How about #79 from few weeks ago. Bryce Harper gets hit in the head on a pitch that was clearly an accident by a young cardinals pitcher. Harper goes on the record and says that he knows it was an accident.

Then the guys on MLB tonight (who I usually really like) are talking about how great it is and how joe girardi would have lost all respect as a manager if that didn’t happen.

Like I said above. What if the guy missed and hits arenado in the head?

It was a game that was tied in extra innings. What if the Phillies lose that game and miss the playoffs by one game.

It’s not going to change what I do. I’m still gonna play. But, if you see a guy rocking vogelbach at first base to grind the al west affinity, you should be the favorite.

You start according where you ended last season. If you were in all star then you will start at 450 i think, but if you were above 700 then you start there with all the other rs demons. I would wait a day or two if you aren't that good and start at 700.

I spent a couple days in DS so I think I start with everyone. I’ll try a game or two every night and see how it goes until Friday. If it isn’t enjoyable then I’ll just see if I can get the Cubs in the World Series in MTO.

Not sure if it changed, but in the past you started next season based on the rank you are at when the season ends, not based on highest rank you attained. Can someone tell me if this is still the case?

He is like Kluber but with less stamina. Work the count and he'll be out of the game by the 6th or 7th inning.

Since I posted this the Mets and Lindor have started to look like the team many expected/hoped for. They’ve put up 7 today and Lindor looks like he know where he is.

As for the dodgers, I’m hoping lux’s homer last night is a little spark moving forward. It was nice to see the boys in blue win a 5-3 game.

Nothing great in the conquest map but that isn’t unusual for the 2nd inning.

Theres a Space Pack at level 33 in the 1st Inning Program. Might get him in there.

The conquest and showdowns and collections should all still be available so people picking up the game in June have a chance. That’s how it’s always worked. The only disadvantage is that the daily missions and any xp earned from playing the game will go to the current event so you’ll probably have to complete the collections to reach 350k.

That’s what I thought. But, I think it says conquest are only available for another week. That’s why I brought it up.
