There is no such thing as quick pitching in this game. Either you’re ready or you’re not. Pitchers dictate the pace of play.
Yeah I wouldn't pay a grand to watch the player play in real life, much less a video game.
Everyone calling the name change cancel culture in this thread clearly doesn't even understand the definition of cancel culture. This isn't some TV host having to resign over making an absurd comment.
The Indians changing their name has been coming for a long, long time, just like the Redskins. This isn't a university using the name of a tribe with permission and respecting the name. It's a little different when your entire team history is built around a funny caricature of an actual group of oppressed people.
All that being said, Guardians is a terrible replacement.

I know you think you're being clever, but comparing people being offended over a type of bird or sock to a group of historically oppressed people who were killed in mass ... is not clever.
I haven't touched Showdown this year and am not sure if I will. I know MTO takes longer, but I don't really care because I know I'm getting TA points out of it each time and I don't spend the whole time cussing at my TV.

This game is really great, and I pretty much play it non-stop, but there are still a few issues that could be improved.
In franchise mode, nobody really knows how the game is played (the art of the trade, etc.) and I wish you could control certain things about your ballpark such as concession items such as how the sausage gets made.
There isn't enough recognition when you break records in RTTS, I could break the HR record and all I get is one tiny recognition screen during the game, like SDS bear with me, are you aware that I'm making history?
It's too tempting to spend money. Like how am I gonna say no to this? My bank account is helpless. There's nothing rich folks love more than buying a good team and flexing it on the poor. Take Mike Trout, the card is loaded. But little would he know that his owners sneak into Shippet just to watch all the balls fly.
Hitting still doesn't make sense. I've practiced the game I've practically perfected it, I see the high and inside sinker and I swing at it, now for a higher power card, if not than I'll be popping out while hitting perfect flyballs against these mediocraties.
Battle royale rewards are hard to acquire. Every other card gets to be used, every other shortstop gets to be played. But when you're done who remembers game, who hits with Story?
In the span of 6 weeks I played 85 ranked seasons games, the game froze after playing 5, I won 29, and despite me playing better, MY OPPONENT WON THE OTHER 51. This shows some of the issues with offense. It's a testament to my pain.
And I know what you're all thinking right now, "This kid is insane, man" and to that I'd respond and tell you to get some education. There may be about a million missions I haven't done, but just you wait.

This forum sucks because people post in the "Diamond Dynasty" forum about issues with RTTS and Franchise. No idea how people expect SDS to fix this game when they don't know how to report a bug properly

No. Because it's a movie from 1989 and not a baseball team playing in the present.
You guys are making my day with these terrible attempts at humor. It's like they're so unfunny that they're funny.
The game has both skill and luck components just like real baseball, but I think it still leans skill. If you are a really bad player, you will lose most of your games but steal a few wins here and there. If you are a really good player, you will win most of your games and have a few stolen here and there. I don't see anything wrong with that in a general sense.

If everyone came set before pitching, it would be much less of a problem. You guys saying quick pitching doesn’t exist in the game are probably slide stepping with Kenley Jansen.
People R2 even when you come to a set. I actually think the idea is more to throw you off than to slow things down.

Some of us have autism but still enjoy online play.
Some of us have dyslexia but still enjoy online play.
Some of us have anxiety and quick pitching raises our heart rates and makes it really uncomfortable to play.
Some of us have other mental things that require that full second pause to think about the pitch, or to just take a breather.
Some of us have all of those things that all affect them, but still enjoy online play.
You know what should be rewarded? People who take their time and aren't just trying to spam their way to a win.
You know what shouldn't be rewarded? Being mad at a part of the video game that they've kept in specifically for people like us who need a few seconds in a key spot.
I personally don't spam it. I don't touch it when you're in the windup. I don't touch it when it's a normal inning or if I'm feeling mentally okay or if I'm able to stay locked in. But absolutely going to do it on every pitch when you suddenly pull it out as a "tool" in a tough spot to get me out.
There's way more people who are quick pitch spamming, than there are of us who maliciously hold R2.
Congrats on having a brain that is so fast at picking a pitch and location that you don't even need to consider anything before doing it.
I wish I personally had a brain that could do the same.
I guess I’ll say it one more time: People hold R2 primarily to throw the pitcher off - not because things are moving too quickly. It happens to me even when I am taking time between pitches or come to a complete set.
Of course they do and every one of them in here are using every excuse under the sun to try to keep that ability. They don’t care about anything they are typing.

Stop complaining and suggest something to SDS that they may actually implement based on actual gameplay, not your hissy fit about having to wait a second now and then.
I also have not faced a single person who "holds it every single pitch" like you both say.
I don’t even use slide step lol. I just don’t care enough to. If you don’t take a secondary lead I don’t care what you do.
So take out r2 and r3 l, add last AB pitches, pitchers repertoire and batter stats to hud and make the pitcher pause a second before each pitch. Boom we all win and we’re done here.

His FOTF card last year was so good as well.
I used to like the idea of having separate lineups based on pitcher handedness, but I see now why it's done the current way. Need to be able to build a well-balanced team capable of hitting either righties or lefties.

You know what is BS though? When the outfielder kind of lazily throws the ball back in or throws it home, and you take second. This should count as a 2B, but it is always a single instead. Makes those 8 TB kind of moments even tougher.
you dont get a base when you advance on a throw home or third. a lazy throw to me wouls constitute and error for allowing ypu to advance.
I guess my point is that Moments are mind-numbing and atrocious to play and I wish you didn't have to grind so many of them.
In the future I think SDS needs to come up with a more enjoyable way of grinding for new cards. It's far too reliant on Moments right now, which as you said, are mind-numbingly boring. If it means more Conquest maps, or grinding for wins/stats against the CPU, I'm all for it. Basically, force us to play GAMES with our DD squad, not player lock.
Feel like everyone has a different opinion on this, so let's hear them.
For me, I'll only replay a home run if my opponent has been overly toxic (i.e. bunt dancing, insisting on taking a lead with every runner) all game and I hit a big one late to go ahead. It has to be pretty egregious, though.
Have been using offset zoom for a while now. Probably not what World Series players use but I enjoy it since you can actually see the hitter.
