" Lineups would be mostly diamond but at least there would be some variability instead of every team having the 99 rated players."
Not true at all, no matter what mode they create, there will always be a meta. You would see a lot of Bellinger, Trout, Gary Sanchez at catcher etc.
People always think if they create some new mode, magically the playerbase will not default to certain cards, when in reality they always will
Yea I get what you're saying. I think it would be more fun, especially as the real season starts and players are moving up and down in attributes and rankings. It could be fun to follow along with that. And I still think there would be more different lineups than having the 99 card of each position, especially towards the end of the year.
There wouldn't be more different lineups, because your misrepresenting what the actual real ranked season is like. There wasn't one 99 card of each position, there were like 10-15 per position, whereas with LS, there is only one best card and that's Mike Trout, anyone who has Mike Trout will always use Mike Trout, anyone who has Bellinger will always use Bellinger. People always default to the highest/best card, no matter the mode.
I'm not saying it's a bad idea to have a always going LS thing, it would be fun, but it's not going to magically create more diverse lineups.
Currently, in real ranked seasons, you see so many different 1B, FOTF Matt Olson, Todd Helton, Giambi, Kirilloff, Olreud, you see secondaries guys like Nolan Gorman, Nolan Jones, that list will only get more expansive as the year goes on.
You know who you would face all the time with only LS? Pete Alonso, Freddie Freeman, maybe Arenado or Rendon in a secondary and perhaps once in a blue moon LS Olson.
Yea I feel you. I didn’t realize there would be 10-15 options of 99s at each position. I guess I would appreciate the increased value of the live series cards.
