Why do people talk about franchise? How is franchise anything like DD?

    1. I lean no since no screen mentions them.
    2. No. They were pointless, non-immersive, etc. And so repetitive. "Hit a homer with X player." They didn't even show the player celebrating with the team after hitting the home run. The story-line ones would have been cool if they worked properly.

They haven’t shown the DD screens ? And the moments were 100 times better than playing with one player or team for 500 innings I can’t believe some of y’all actually like the old way better.

Not every grind was 500 innnings. And you still had to do that same thing with the team for dailies or team affinity but you didn't even get credit for that doing moments.

You can literally collect and trade for the players you want. Turn on force trades, then bam. You can have the greatest team. Why spend money and then play offline in DD?

Trading in Franchise and collecting in DD are in no way related. Nor is building in team. They are 2 completely different modes.

What makes you think DD is just about getting the best players without doing anything for them? I mean I guess that's the logic for people who just buy stubs to buy cards on the market but most like earning their cards. Preferably in the method they like the best.

For the people who complete collections and play the DD mode in versus.. showdown.. conquest.. and get the XP by earning it. Playing HR Derby for all of your XP shouldn't reward you with cards and other rewards that are not meant to be obtained so quickly. It's not a grind. It's exploiting a glitch.

Except they also give you XP by doing collections which isn't earned at all.

@SaveFarris said in What did SDS get RIGHT for The Show 19?:

All Conquest rewards except for Cobb, Colon, Keith, and Smardi#$@ were sellable.
Almost everything in Moments was sellable except for Storyline cards, Sony Partners, Ultimate/Extreme and the first April POTM

No conqest rewards (the actual cards that were given for specifically doing something in Conquest) were sellable. No Moments cards were sellable. You just said "everything was sellable except the actual cards that were rewards." There was nothing you could earn from only offline play that you could then put on the market to sell to those that didn't want to play offline except the Topps Now stuff.

This was the "screw offline" year. Every WS/BR card was sellable but Andrew Miller wasn't.

Maybe replaying Conquest maps associated with certain programs should always produce stars for that program.

That would be great. Then you could get 600 stars for any inning at any time.

I agree with you, however, the majority of players who play The Show are online players, so that do need to cater to them a bit more. That said, as a completely offline player too, it seems reasonable to incorporate more optional stat missions into the programs next year. Agree with Ferris that is makes you use more cards you may not use otherwise. I actually did the 75 HR with AS cards last week, and had so much fun using AS A-Gone, Chris Davis, Jose Bautista and AS Joey Gallo again! Need more of these like with Rookies, Impact Vets, and Breakout cards!

The majority of players who play The Show are not online players. RTTS is the most popular mode.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but do you have any evidence to back that up? At least based on this forum, hardly anyone ever talks about RTTS compared to Diamond Dynasty. That used to be my favorite mode too until I played 17 and got hooked on DD.

Any time SDS talks about the modes in streams they say that.

Don't go by what you see on the forum. Based on the forums, you would think most people make WS and want pitch speeds increased.

  • More offline grinds
  • A ag1982

The worst part of playing online is people are trying to win more than trying to play the game like it's a baseball game. Throwing slow pitches above the zone or high is the most prevalent but almost nothing is as bad as somebody who is representing how the game, constantly doing base running cheese all the time.

  • No new rewards in the new event.
  • A ag1982

The first one was called "Part 1." It called for 70 wins to get the top reward and event "Part 1" only lasted a couple of weeks. People actually thought when it went to "Part 2" that it would be a new set of rewards? Do you know how insane it would be to expect most people to complete 70 wins in that timeframe for a 90 OVR player?

So we are in the top of the 7th inning in a tied game and my opponent was ablr yo bring in FOTF Shohei Ohtani as a relief pitcher to pitch? Wtf. Is there something im missing here?

This year starters can come in as relievers so that is something people can do.

  • Remove All Star difficulty from Ranked Seasons
  • A ag1982

HOF reduced the skill gap, not AS and even. Legend reduces it even moreso. Better players will outscore worse players on All Star. The higher the difficulty, the more it comes down to 1 or 2 runs that could be due to randomness.

  • Serious question: What's with the sliding into first base, after your batter hits the ball?
  • A ag1982

Sliding into first should slow down the runner. Unless avoiding a tag, it should never be a good idea.

    @yoyoman2531 said in Atrin? Really?:

I can't imagine Mcgunski being a partner when he streamed he would talk [censored] on the game.

Sony Partners already talk [censored] on the game all the time. They all bitched about patches and other aspects of the game and none of them hold back on stream. May be they care about cursing, rage, and "adult content" (Gunski having a Ron Jeremy emote) but they def don't care about what they say about the game.

Quash had freeze out-gate, base run cheeses all the time and still got invited back to San Diego. Koogs violated TOS and got invited back to San Diego.

For SDS it's def just about YT subs and twitch followers (and possibly also about guys that they've had previous relationships with from old versions of The Show). Otherwise guys like Coop would be partner and current ones would not be. I bet you Emmdotfrisk would be a partner this year before TrueSmaugh or KyleNextDoor.

Those are divisions in Ranked Seasons, not leagues. The leagues mentioned are the "custom leagues" coming to The Show 20. It will be further discussed on the SDS stream on 2/27.

I definitely get what your saying about offline not having as much to do. I don't want this coming off in a bad way or anything but Diamond Dynasty is made to be an online mode and majority of the time you spend playing that game mode should be online versus others not the CPU.

I understand that's the way they seem to have intended to position it, but I just don't see why this interesting and entertaining card-collecting part of the game should be restricted to online multiplayer. I'm far more interested in it as a way of acquiring and progressing a team than being a GM in Franchise mode, but the decision to target it to online players only seems needless and arbitrary.

Here is what you can do offline in DD:

    1. Play versus CPU MLB Teams
    2. Play versus other users DD teams controlled by CPU
    3. Conquest - I believe there is more than 10 maps and all are re-playable.
    4. Moments - We all already know there are a ton of them.

Here is what you can do Online in DD:

    1. Ranked Seasons
    2. Battle Royale
    3. Events (when they have them running)
    4. Play versus a Friend

You literally have just as much to do offline as you do online, yet this is suppose to be an online mode. Hopefully Custom Leagues actually lets you play full seasons and you can then select your DD team to run a season with versus CPU, I think that would make all parties happy.

If you think those modes are equal and/or that the rewards are equal, sure, there is just as much to do.
