Grind vs pay to win

Just curious if anyone has completed live series collection to get mantle without spending any money. I get nothing from pack buying so I try not to waste my stubs.

I know of at least one person who has, but they managed to pull multiple Trouts

I spent $50 on stubs when the game first came out, but haven't spent $$ since. Been flipping the heck out of cards and I'm 10 cards away from getting Mantle.

And buying packs is a waste. Don't do it.

Only have 6 teams left, sold everything thing from packs for 1st couple weeks, could only field a team of flashbacks for first 3 weeks, had everyTA to 10 at that point, then started buying cards to collect, picked my times, got most common for under 30, most bronze for 50-150,etc. skill plus a lot of luck for finding those prices, then during the flash sale crash I was able to complete 8 big teams for a lot cheaper, also got some teams cheap from pack pulls.

I don't spend money. I try to flip and make as much as possible. It's hard though, I don't know how people supposedly make 85K a day. I made maybe 10K today, so I usullay take my profits and buy packs.

I have gotten Mantle without spending $, took a lotttt of grinding + luck.

Unless you pull Trout, no way in hell. I’m still two teams away in each league to collect and I’ve spent a few extra bucks on the game.

I haven't bought any stubs, and I've got about half of the teams done so far. For the teams that aren't done yet, i have everything except the diamonds.

I just need Diamonds from 14 teams I should be done in about 3 to 4 weeks flipping cards, hopefully free packs help, and stubs earned by playing. I pulled Sale last night in a free XP pack so that was nice. I already pulled Freeman just need ACUNA for the braves. I just been buying Diamonds and completing collections. Trout will probably be the last card I go after unless I pull it in a free pack.

I've gotten Bregman and Morton in post-game rewards, which was sweet. I don't have the pack luck that some of these cats have. I didn't get Mays until August last year, so I'm still ahead of schedule. Haha.

The last two years I was able to finished collections by July, It was easier with Quick selling a team collection once it was completed. I was lucky last year to pull Trout. I was able to pull more than 1 Scherzer along with Arenado last year and many low diamonds. I had pack luck last year.

I'm working on them but I'm not that far along because I refuse to pay these ridiculous 500-stub premiums for bronzes on crappy teams. I've got 35+ on probably 20 of the teams - I usually get to 38 or 39 before I just buck up and pay what it costs for the last card I need.
