What is going on?

In my opinion the issue I hate about this is the extra steps, or hoops if you will, in order to get them.
I have the stubs but I don't have any dupe cards. If I am stub rich then maybe I can just go and pay the buy now prices and be done with it. Other people are going to need to place 60 or so buy orders, watch themselves be outbid and then either be patient or get into a bidding war to try and get 60 cards.
That's the definition of jumping through hoops. Put these cards in packs and I could have just bought them but now I have to wait days if not weeks to use those same stubs on the market waiting to be the highest bidder to win these cards which I am going to just exchange.
Hoops.

Content creators talk about how greedy and predatory it is...
Then you look at their stub balance and they have over 2 million stubs. So, they could just buy the stuff. Even if they didn't, their last video they posted is "make 200k stubs per day by flipping" (which aint that hard cause margins are huge). So, what's the big deal here? You've got the stubs, and even if you didn't, its easy to get them.
Then they proceed to say in their video that none of the cards are really that good anyway, and many other cards are just as good or better. So again, what's the point - you dont even really want the cards. You can probably skip a collection for Legends and Flashback, so you dont need it for that.
Nobody wants to do honest grinding anymore - they all just want to cheese to get stubs and get everything Day One. Then, post the content cause thats all important. But, what's the point if you dont even wanna play the game anyway? Nobody seems to enjoy doing anything in the game these days.

You are approaching this from the 'I will use the market to complete this' route. In that way, your point is fair.
I truly feel that SDS intended the main acquisition for these cards to be exchanging your dupes as you pull them. Sure, they knew some people would rush buy everything but I feel pretty confident that if I played regularly over the next month or two (spoiler: I wont) I would be able to naturally complete these via dupes.
For me, this is substantially more enjoyable than putting something in WC I cant obtain with my skill level, or a chase card that I am unlikely to actually pull (where the Mets Finest are so far). Its still not good content, but its an attempt at something new and a way to tackle a somewhat common complaint of live series being worthless.

And how long will that take for the average user if they are starting from ground zero with no duplicates?
The Finest program did not give you the opportunity to earn a exchange card. The XP Path has only 1 guaranteed card.
When am I earning all of these duplicate live series diamonds? You need a LOT of them. Is there any repeatable way to earn a vault pack? Other than that you are just hoping to get lucky with standard and Ballin packs.

If the app is working as intended and you don't get an "account restricted" message every time you enter 10 orders... you can get the 70 85s needed quickly. Drop the orders in, (maybe 2 minutes total) and wait. You'll have all 70 cards within 30 minutes.

This game has turned into an absolute circus. I would say just turn on and off your cheats when you need to but you don't even need to do that. Just keep them on and hit .700. Absolute clown show this year. They are going to have their marketing team on overdrive next year.
I get why the guys at the top of Ranked are fed up with cheating. Though most of us aren't matching up with the same people they are. I want SDS to keep going after it, but I'm guessing catching cheaters is a little harder than Twitter CCs makes it sound. I'm more annoyed at the actual people cheating in the first place, and believe SDS is truly trying. Like it's a video game, cheaters need to get a life and you know, stop cheating.
But what gets me is hearing the same creators complain about competitive integrity while promoting third-party stub sites and/or doing the WBC glitch. I brought it up on Twitter super respectfully and YFK blocked me.
Dude couldn't handle the power of my 20 followers. -
Maybe it's because I am old but I don't use the app. When I want to deal with the game I am actually playing the game.
But what you just described are hoops to jump through. You have the stubs but you can't just buy these cards. You have to buy some intermediate cards first and then you trade them for the new cards.
Whether it is an easy hoop to jump through or a difficult one is irrelevant. It's still an extra hoop.

nevermind

70 orders on the console is definitely a lot.
I do agree though, I think the exchange thing is tedious and annoying.
They should make the cards sellable, so after people do the exchanges they can sell them to people that don't feel like it.While 70 orders is easy for me to do with the app, I just haven't done the exchanges yet. Just waiting to see what the collection is on Friday, and then will figure out how many cards I actually need. Finest doesn't do much for me - I prefer to play with Legends, but my OCD makes me have to complete every collection.
-
imagine if there are 4 exchanges for each Finest drop

I have the stubs to get these cards but it's just too much work in the market to place these orders ... it's like in magic the gathering when I see a card with a whole wall of text ... I'm not going to take the time to parse through what it actually does ... I'll just play a different card

I am skipping this Finest collection for the L&F collections, which means unfortunately I'll have to do Spooky variant exchanges. Trade one for another, seems like a common theme right now.

Dude couldn't handle the power of my 20 followers.I'll say what I always say. Majority of streamers are pieces of [censored] when you peel back the fake facade they push trying to get viewers. How an absolute low life like YFK got so many followers absolutely blows my mind. Kind of speaks volumes about the society we live in. Streamers and cheaters have really made online gaming miserable. I've been online gaming since 2002 with Socom (greatest game ever 2 and then 1).

I've been online gaming since 2002 with Socom (greatest game ever 2 and then 1).Sadly, I agree. I used to follow a ton of MLB The Show creators. I've unfollowed all of them on YouTube, and now I'll occasionally watch RoFlo, Ashley, or Major Mangoes because they're good people. I just don't get the appeal of watching grown men break controllers or make a whole video about how half their followers got banned and somehow it's all SDS's fault.
That's why I mostly talk about the game here. I keep Twitter around to see content drops as soon as they're announced, but somehow I'll say one positive thing about the game and get called a bootlicker or worse.
I just want to play some baseball and talk about it without every conversation turning into a fight. I tried to start up a Facebook page called "Diamond Dynasty Dads" (A positive community for MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty dads, parents, or anyone looking for a non-toxic place to talk MLB The Show.) but it just hasn't gotten much traction, and people aren't posting much. So I come here, where it's a mixture of positive and negative, but at least there are mods so people can't be totally unhinged.

Idk specifically about this but having to exchange only diamonds for like 120k stubs to get woods in November is predatory
I didn't do the exact math but its like 500k to get the 4 cards maybe?
SDS knew it would inflate the market and nobody would have any reason to hoard quick sell live series diamonds
Online is brutal, I deleted both fb and ig but sds had been shifting more to the predatory spectrum side compared to past years
Completely agree doing a live series exchange is great but to limit it to 85+ was ridiculous. Anyone who has played this game for any amount of time is basically programmed to quick sell or market any duplicate diamond live series. This should have been exchange ALL tiers towards them and NO ONE would have been mad, we would've been like cool 4 extra free cards i don't have to pack luck into

And then there's the "top player" some CCs are defending after he got banned. @dolenz_psn pulled up his game log and found a 64-0 win where the other team made 19 errors. Just a normal day at the ballpark, apparently.
I'm about to delete Twitter altogether. Can MLB The Show just text me the content drops/updates so I can skip the rest of the garbage on that site?
