What is going on?

I am skipping this Finest collection for the L&F collections, which means unfortunately I'll have to do Spooky variant exchanges. Trade one for another, seems like a common theme right now.

This game has turned into an absolute circus. I would say just turn on and off your cheats when you need to but you don't even need to do that. Just keep them on and hit .700. Absolute clown show this year. They are going to have their marketing team on overdrive next year.
I get why the guys at the top of Ranked are fed up with cheating. Though most of us aren't matching up with the same people they are. I want SDS to keep going after it, but I'm guessing catching cheaters is a little harder than Twitter CCs makes it sound. I'm more annoyed at the actual people cheating in the first place, and believe SDS is truly trying. Like it's a video game, cheaters need to get a life and you know, stop cheating.
But what gets me is hearing the same creators complain about competitive integrity while promoting third-party stub sites and/or doing the WBC glitch. I brought it up on Twitter super respectfully and YFK blocked me.
Dude couldn't handle the power of my 20 followers.I'll say what I always say. Majority of streamers are pieces of [censored] when you peel back the fake facade they push trying to get viewers. How an absolute low life like YFK got so many followers absolutely blows my mind. Kind of speaks volumes about the society we live in. Streamers and cheaters have really made online gaming miserable. I've been online gaming since 2002 with Socom (greatest game ever 2 and then 1).

I've been online gaming since 2002 with Socom (greatest game ever 2 and then 1).Sadly, I agree. I used to follow a ton of MLB The Show creators. I've unfollowed all of them on YouTube, and now I'll occasionally watch RoFlo, Ashley, or Major Mangoes because they're good people. I just don't get the appeal of watching grown men break controllers or make a whole video about how half their followers got banned and somehow it's all SDS's fault.
That's why I mostly talk about the game here. I keep Twitter around to see content drops as soon as they're announced, but somehow I'll say one positive thing about the game and get called a bootlicker or worse.
I just want to play some baseball and talk about it without every conversation turning into a fight. I tried to start up a Facebook page called "Diamond Dynasty Dads" (A positive community for MLB The Show Diamond Dynasty dads, parents, or anyone looking for a non-toxic place to talk MLB The Show.) but it just hasn't gotten much traction, and people aren't posting much. So I come here, where it's a mixture of positive and negative, but at least there are mods so people can't be totally unhinged.

Idk specifically about this but having to exchange only diamonds for like 120k stubs to get woods in November is predatory
I didn't do the exact math but its like 500k to get the 4 cards maybe?
SDS knew it would inflate the market and nobody would have any reason to hoard quick sell live series diamonds
Online is brutal, I deleted both fb and ig but sds had been shifting more to the predatory spectrum side compared to past years
Completely agree doing a live series exchange is great but to limit it to 85+ was ridiculous. Anyone who has played this game for any amount of time is basically programmed to quick sell or market any duplicate diamond live series. This should have been exchange ALL tiers towards them and NO ONE would have been mad, we would've been like cool 4 extra free cards i don't have to pack luck into

And then there's the "top player" some CCs are defending after he got banned. @dolenz_psn pulled up his game log and found a 64-0 win where the other team made 19 errors. Just a normal day at the ballpark, apparently.
I'm about to delete Twitter altogether. Can MLB The Show just text me the content drops/updates so I can skip the rest of the garbage on that site?

Exchanges aren’t but when they force us to spend money to do it then it becomes predatory. If they gave us cards and didn’t force us to spend money it won’t be bad.

I think we’re using “predatory” pretty loosely here. I get why people would rather earn these cards through a program. I’d prefer that too. But you can do the exchanges with stubs you earn in-game, or skip them if the cost feels too high. What specifically about these exchanges makes you feel like you’re being forced to spend real money?

Exactly.
Pretty sure we've all got countless Golds, Silvers, Bronzes, and Commons just sitting there in our binders. Let us exchange those.

I quit Twitter about 2 years ago. I refused the name change. I thought 'X' was incredibly dumb. I loved being on since '11, I think. There were too many legends in their own minds on there, but i loved it for sports and the music people that I followed. I was @LetsgoMetsgo. It was like cigs for me from 12-17. I thought I could never quit, but wanted to. I got put in Twitter jail, which angered me, so I felt that here's my chance to escape, since it was a pain to get out of 'jail.' I've never looked back! It has to be a million times worse, since '24.

Then why not just give everyone the 4 cards for free with no effort? Basically what you are asking for here.

It would not be free though. You played to earn the packs that gave you all of those duplicates.
What's the difference between exchanging them directly for these cards vs needing to quick sell them all, use those stubs to buy live series diamonds, then exchanging those diamonds?
I will continue to be se this word to answer that question. Hoops. Just extra hoops to jump through.
Of course, properly valued, the sheer number of commons or bronzes you would need would be HUGE.

Or just play the game naturally and exchange when you get the cards. Stop making everything about day 1 acquisitions.

I'm not. I am not even going to attempt this. You should be familiar enough with me that you know I am not a person who has to have a card Day 1.
But you did not answer my question. Say I have a bunch of duplicate commons-golds. I earned these cards the same exact way I would earn a live series diamonds (earning and opening packs). But, if I want to use those duplicates to help with this, I first have to go through the process of quick selling every single one of them to get stubs to then turn around and buy Live Series Diamonds so that I could exchange those.
It's extra steps for the sake of making it more of a hassle.

You weren't intended to use your existing inventory, and honestly I think that's completely fine. I seriously don't think SDS really expected anyone to sell all their bronzes and silvers for this like you are suggesting.
Of course, if their UI wasnt a disaster we wouldnt have all of these bronzes and silvers in the first place.

I rarely watch streams, but I caught a popular creator today calling out how much other creators complain. It was refreshing.
-
@Bridge-Piece_XBL What's worse, complaining or complaining about the complaining?

Complaining, not even close.
