Is the Show Live - A Thing of the past

It would be genuinely refreshing to hear a peep out of SDS after the great ban wave and months of radio silence. I’m running out of voids to scream into about the blatant lack of Reds content, noone has even whispered the words 'White Sox,' 'Padres,' or 'Nats' to me in the last two months? My Gen X cynicism is reaching critical mass. Honestly, I just miss the thrill of ripping packs full of useless duplicate commons, quick-selling the lot, and walking away with 50 Stubs. I'm really feeling the loss of that digital pocket change.

IMHO, there's possibly a couple reasons.
#1 is that the streams had become increasingly negative, the majority of the chats were people just ripping the game to shreds.
#2- They were catching even more heat by not acknowledging gameplay issues, or player requests et al. We all know that not everyone's ideas are great, but there's more than a few that should probably have been implemented years ago that aren't.
#3- They're doing what they unfortunately have earned a reputation for doing: Burying their heads in the sand and pretending things are ok. The "I can't you, so you can't see me". The recent banwave does contradict this, but there is admittedly more work to be done to earn the player base's trust back.

This is also typically the time they start planning for the next year. I wouldn’t expect any announcements till Oct/Nov, but their attention is currently divided.

They did say they were taking a break.
It would have made more sense to have one before the Pipeline drop (and better help explain the no sell choice packs that have confused people), there isn't enough content on an inning drop to fill an hour without uncomfortable amounts of padding

I don't know the reason but I am not sold on the negativity. The stream chat has been horribly negative and mean spirited for years

I actually miss the live stream if I'm being serious. I agree the negativity in the stream was a bit beyond mean spirited. It felt like the two hosts were doing their best. people take this way too seriously. I'm still sort of speechless about how people used exploits to gain what they saw as an advantage.

I miss the live streams. Years ago I had to moderate a big online event and dropped the ban hammer on like 50 people. If I were moderating these streams I would do the same (but probably more like 500). These folks are toxic, so I don’t blame SDS for not wanting to go live.

@victoryphoenix_PSN I miss the live streams as well...I do wish there was Dev-lives for discussing issues/requests. @sds_joek_psn no disrespect meant, but giving requests directly to the devs would be a boon for the community.
I think a lot of SDS' community relation problems could be solved with better communication.

Mostly I miss the drops. Ha ha. Just kidding. The chat running on the screen was brutal, though.

Well, I don’t think we’ve heard from them since before the all star game. Not surprised tho to see them on Twitter announcing that playstation plus subscribers will get the show for free next month. I thought the live show was a nice way to connect with fans and for them to give brief explanation of what’s going on. I was actually quite touched the time they started out that one show by saying they understood some players were upset with something and they were working to fix it! I don’t even remember the issue and it wasn’t that long ago, but just the tiny bit of acknowledgment was so meaningful, imo. Even if they didn’t deliver on a fix. Seeing how this is a yearly game that gets delivered on a weekly basis to a loyal player base - and all the forms of communication available to all these days - not having something like the show live every week seems like such a huge missed opportunity. From a players respective, I’d think people would rather there be a live show instead of no live show… or even if it wasn’t live… something besides Twitter posts to remind us that people still work there.

Honestly, much more can be done by simply improving the game. Communication is tightly linked to public relations, and that has been about the only focus by SDS for years now.
SDS is out of alternate ideas, alternate strategies, and alternate methods. We're at a point where they either pony up the code team talent and money to return the game to being the best in the industry, or watch the decline continue.
