Ban hammer...
-
Don't believe for a second any more than 2%-5% of those tickets are innocent accidental bans. SDS is going to be inundated with "I d'int do nuffin!" tickets by people who got caught buying 3rd Party stubs or Stub Transfers.
-
Yep if they have any evidence of that those tickets should be immediately disregarded. I’m sure there might be some innocent people that were flipping at the wrong time but those are few and far between. The vast majority were either using bits themselves or at the very least bought stubs at a heavily discounted rate from 3rd party sites which inflated the market thru the roof. Good riddance.
-
I saw the third party sites and then read about how they work and passed because I wasn't giving access to my account to anyone. At that point, I would just flip my cards and then all of the equipment stuff was going on, so I would get stubs that way... so, I figure I got pulled into it that way... if nothing happens and the ban continues, I have CFB and Madden to tryout since I have been enjoying DD on The Show. We'll see, I guess.
-
@TheRealJSpit_PSN What happens is there is no way for the "straight shooters" to tell what's what in terms of transfer orders...so how the few innocent bystanders are being nabbed is they are 100% unknowingly buying or selling to an order linked to a transferring/bot/3rd party-using account.
I don't think this is laziness on SDS' part...as much as they haven't really earned the BoD, it looks like they're casting wide nets to anything associated with those (for all intents and purposes) illegal accounts and then filtering and sifting through as they go to get the innocent people back into the game.
That's my guess
-
If your using 3rd party stub companies you should be banned. However if your flipping cards especially non player cards, there is no way to avoid being caught up in stub transfers which is totally out of our control.
-
I do hope that's the case. I have zero issues with them cracking down on it and if my ban is not reversed because I flipped cards when the bots were running the market, so I am certain I was in with the bot transfers, then I have to accept that, I guess... We'll see what happens.
-
@TheRealJSpit_PSN Look, I don't know you from a hole in the ground- I've been on the forums for years and have never seen you but I don't mind giving the benefit of the doubt...
I know this sucks...but it may be short term pain for long term gain here. You're a dolphin in a tuna net, just gotta wait for SDS to sort through and toss ya back. If you'll excuse the fishing metaphor.
-
No problem... I have played The Show for years... I switched from XBOX to PS because the XBOX lost their 2K baseball game... but this is only my second year of DD and my first year on these forums. If I bought 3rd party stubs and got banned, I would own it... it happened years ago with NHL on EA Sports, but that was for two weeks and at that point, I never wend 3rd party ever again.
-
Anyone who bought third party stubs deserves their ban.
-

I would have to believe that less than that are accidental bans. I believe SDS knew exactly the people they were targeting. Did 1 out of 1000 that got bannrd was innocent probably more like it.
I believe 99.99% of all tickets that said why am I banned, I never did anything wrong, at least attempted to do a stun transfer. Maybe it didn't go through maybe they backed out, who knows, but SDS monitors everyone accounts they know who is cheating and who isn't.
Edit Or should I also say who is also attempting to cheat and who isn't
-
I think the bigger thing was people buying stubs off 3rd party sites. They wouldn’t exist if people weren’t buying them and I think a ton of people bought off those sites this year. Some probably didn’t even know it was against the TOS but that’s on them. It’s like buying stolen merchandise. If you do the crime you gotta do the time.
-
I also think attempting to buy from stub sites probably got people banned too. It's still a crime to attempt to do illicit activities.
-
Looks like YFK got banned.
-
True, but I can only assume if they tried they probably were successful. While I feel that stubs are significantly overpriced for what you get that still doesn’t mean you can just go buy illegal bot accumulated stubs for a fraction of the price.
-
With the way these bots and resellers work I find it real hard to believe that someone got caught in the middle for no reason. Is it possible? Absolutely, anything is possible with SDS, we all know that. It's not just stubs you can buy off these sites, you can also buy individual cards., some sites even sell complete accounts.
I'm glad SDS is doing something about this but these problems have been allowed to go on for so long that this has to be just a warning shot from SDS. If this is all they do then it fixes nothing.
We/I shouldn't have to say this but... Thank You, SDS for starting to fix the problem. Now in the words of the great Shao Kahn "Finish Them" -
I knew people were buying cheap stubs but didn’t know it was even worse than that. SDS by proxy thru Sony has become increasingly greedy but that doesn’t justify so many players taking shortcuts to get ahead. Cheaters gotta cheat I guess.
-
Looks like YFK got banned.
I'll give him credit. He at least admitted he did it.
Although on the flipside he played the "I can't believe they did this when so many aspects of the game are still broken and people are still using cheat engines."
Now ban the WBC exploiters and let's start with a user base respectful of the TOS

A warning shot can be effective. They are supposedly not just using 2026, but also past history. So something done now could bite you in the [censored] next year.
While account bans allow someone to just create a new account, if you dumped 100+ hours into one account its still a big setback

100% true! I'll take it a step further. 100% of those fairly banned will find some forum to publicly exclaim how "unfair" their ban was. Like I wrote in another of these recent "whoa is me" threads, words you will NEVER see written here by anyone: "I was banned by SDS for violating their terms of service. I deserved it!"
-

Just trying to deflect, pretty standard for him.
