@Good-Talk-Bud_XBL I think the 20 card cap and the extended time between RU's is the biggest, most obvious shove towards the MTX store I've seen in a long time. While not pay to win, it's definitely a major shift towards "Pay to Earn". Widely panned and incredibly unpopular...so naturally they'll likely keep moving forward with it.

In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if they lower the cap even further. There's two ends to this mean, and both generally favour SDS. First, the NMS players are driven away completely...leaving SDS free to further monetize the game entirely. Secondly, some of those NMS players are so desperate for a good game they convert to spending money...leaving SDS free to further monetize the game.

Offline players won't be exempt from this either, you'll see more and more things in RTTS, Franchise be added to the MTX options(sponsorship packs for Franchise, additional premium equipment packs for RTTS)

Unless some real competition steps up soon, I don't think we can expect too many things to improve unfortunately.

@Sarge1387_PSN well put, my hope is next year a lockout is likely when mlb the show usually drops so the hype for baseball will be down aswell it’s gonna be only a few months after GTA drops. Those factors along with how poorly this year has went will likely hurt sales drastically next year. Hopefully resulting in them reverting some of the greedy changes made this year

@PriorFir4383355_XBL I wouldnt expect any different type of reply from an offline player. Yeah moderate me because I said i dont care about the constant complaints about offline players not wanting to go online. Typical cancel generation response.

I have to play offline all the time. Do you hear us coming on here everyday complaining about it? No our response is to you guys.

You dont understand how much offline play makes us so much worse at the game when we get back online. Thats a real gameplay complaint. You cannot compare even hall of fame vs the cpu to all star online. Its night and day.

Ive see you complain about it every week since the game came out including the previous comment you made in this thread. Did you think you were signed in on the burner or something?

Everybody has a different tipping point. I can dig up posts of mine from 3 or so years ago where I was complaining about their steady march towards monetization.

    • Fewer stubs in rewards
    • Expensive packs (Duos, Chase, Headliners)
    • More collections that require...
    • Pack cards that used to be in programs
    • Making almost all offline rewards including pack cards No Sell

I am sure I could probably come up with more that led us to where we are now.

Flippers just didn't notice those as much since none of those were their primary method of gaining stubs.

Per card limits and fewer updates are just the latest.

@DeleteyourTTVBTW_MLBTS you have seen me complain about two things. And ive made a total of three forum posts all year. Pack odds and the odds to even get good packs. The lack of online programs, that they took away. And the occasional game play issues. All of these are relevant complaints.

I dont want to play online cause im not a good player, im scared to lose, or they arnt giving me enough content. Are not valid complaints. All these complaints are doing is slowing down progress to fix real issues.

@Ditka06-_MLBTS So, to surmise, all your complaints are valid, everyone else's are not.

    The arrogance is astounding.

I think the online vs offline arguments are silly. I prefer offline most of the time because I'm not very good at the game, but I have a lot of fun jumping back and forth between the two depending on my mood. Just seems like a waste to pay good money for a game and only play a small portion of what it offers. For me, the only thing disappointing about DD content is there's always so much to keep up with that I rarely have time to dive into road to the show or franchise anymore.

Correction, complaining that you don't want to play online cause you are scared to lose isn't a good argument to say that offline players are undervalued.

    Of course they are.
Play the game how you enjoy and stay in your lane.
It's not a hard concept, but some seem to want to claim some superiority as if the way they play is more valid than the next person.
It's not, they're just desperate for some validation from a video game and it's sad.

Im hardly a forum bully. The majority of the complaining is by offline players, complaining about having to play online. If its not offline, its content complaints. Every single day. We all complain about different things like pack odds etc. But its been literally all day long with you guys everyday . Im also older. I go online plenty. So thats not an excuse. The majority of you are scared to lose. There are great rewards and ways to progress in the game. But you have to play both.

Being older only means we will never be great. But we can be pretty good.

Here's the thing. You're complaining almost every day in response to others as well. You're almost always very combative and for really no reason. You go 0 to 100 almost instantly. As for online, it's not that people are scared to lose, it's they don't want to waste time playing through lag, against cheaters, and dealing with people that bunt cheese, pause for long periods of time, etc. I play online and get what I want when I want. I'm decent as well but not committed enough for world series. I much prefer to relax and beat the [censored] out of the computer to unwind. Different strokes for different folks. You don't need to make assumptions that people are afraid to lose just because they don't enjoy the same things you do. P.S. packs aren't rigged 🙂

@Thongypu_PSN there was plenty of offliners that complaining about having to play online for June countdown. People also tend to word vomit whatever others are saying about online players. It’s also not an assumption to say people are afraid to lose. No one wants to lose.

@Thongypu_PSN the difference is you go online. The majority of the complainers refuse to. You are a normal player. You play both. You cannot complain if you refuse to play both. All im really trying to say.

But yes. Im not backing down on my stance. I think a good majority of people are scared to lose.

I've read plenty of people on here complaining about playing offline too. I think OPs take is extreme but he's entitled to his opinion just like yours. Also, yes it's an assumption that that's the reason they don't play online. Obviously no one wants to lose. It's the same reason you don't go into conquest and play every game on legend.

Scared to lose vs don't want to lose are two different things. I think there's a lot of reasons to not play online and no one wants to lose even against the computer. Scared is hyperbole. It's a video game. It's more likely they know they aren't good and don't want to waste time. However, I understand just not wanting to deal with people. Especially if you deal with people all the time.

There are many, many reasons. Here are some more

    1. The feel of having your time wasted
    2. Don't pay for PS+
    3. Like to divide focus (I watch MLB while playing The Show)
    4. Need to be able to pause and attend to things (kids/family) at a moments notice
      etc

Meh, I don't blame offline-only players. As someone who plays a little online and intended to play more this year, '26 plays like s--- online. The first three weekends when I tried to play online they had server issues that prevented that. 95+ fielders frequently act like they're either hit by landmines or use terribly slow animations which start inning rallies.

Infinite foul balls. OFs drop routine flyballs (I've never seen that in 1000s of offline games...regular occurrence online, both for me and opponent). Swing timing is different because pressing the swing button online doesn't generate the same response as it would offline. You see a lot of the same players (e.g. Miz) so that can get kind of boring (or it can be a good thing since you'll get used to seeing him). Then you gotta throw in going back and forth between online and offline if you want to keep up with the god squad or collect all the cards.

The one huge benefit to playing online though: facing human hitters. CPU hitters are intentionally made stupid for people to grind their stats.

Online = baseball game (albeit glitchy). Offline = batting cages.
