Been playing online a lot this weekend for the challenges, haven't run in to any sweats or cheaters. Have had some really fun games.

Lol the disingenuous king strikes again. People aren’t even trying anymore guys. No sweats even play online, no cheats are being used at all, just Pergo DOMINATING everyone in his path all weekend. Totally real and true.

Huh? I never said no sweats play online, never said no cheats are being used at all, and I definitely never said I dominate everyone. Quite the opposite actually. Not sure why you feel the need to make things up? Kinda weird and...disingenuous.

These are the only hits I ever really give up, unless I'm pipeshotting so people can get their stats.

You'd be surprised. I've run into a bunch, not the majority of my opponenets by any stretch but a fair amount.

I’m also not the best player (850ish)

This puts you firmly in the top 10% of players, so strictly speaking you are one of the best players.

I do agree on your take about the bear-down pitching though. My counterpoint to that is that only works a couple times consecutively. When you see someone with JR Richard's Cityscape card constantly dotting(his PAR is literally half the zone), it's a major tell.

I mean I've noticed a crazy amount of perfect releases, but even then, I just assumed that's a talented pitcher. I probably have a perfect release on 75% of my pitches as well.

While people do dot me, I don't immediately think they're cheating. Not saying this isn't the case, but not once this year did I assume I was playing a cheater.

40k people in a cheating discord that is pretty expensive. Not a small number and likely not the only place to get that one. The other device you can get at Walmart and GameStop (another showing of greed over integrity) for what $100. EVERY online game is littered with cheats. Yet a game that most legit people (I say this because I think the majority of people above 900 are not legit) find difficult to pitch and hit doesn't have them? People just need some common sense. Seems to be quite lacking these days.

I recently ran into an Xbox player who got six really good home run swings in a row. A couple of them on very tough pitches (turning on perfectly located inside cutter).

There was also some "glitchiness" to the swing - like, it looked like the ball was past the bat, then glitch and its a home run. A few balls that looked like the fielder was too far away - and then glitch and its caught. Could just be server issues...and its possible he just got super hot for two innings, that can happen...but he did nothing the other seven innings, lol

While that's a disgusting number, I heard that wasn't all for MLB The Show. I also don't take anything that Kyle guy says seriously because he's super toxic and just spews garbage.

TBH, I didn't know there was a $100 device you could plug in, but even still, I don't understand the point. Aren't people playing this game to have fun? What's the fun in not actually playing the game or cheating? I don't get it.

It's hard for me to think that most people over 900 are not legit. I probably would be a 900 player if I actually tried to get there, but I don't want to play on Legend, so I stop before that. And I'm old and don't consider myself to be amazing at the game.

Now I will say this. While I don't think, or at least haven't assumed, that I've played cheaters this year, I do have these weird games where someone kind of stinks at hitting, but they mostly shut me down. I usually just assume I'm slumping or something. Then I score a bunch of runs the next game and blame it on RNG, my old eyes, or whatever else.

I'm really not sure. It also might be me assuming that if you cheat, you're a horrible piece of garbage, and even though I've seen plenty of this community on X prove that point, I still hate to believe it while I'm actually in a H2H game.

    There is Twitch, YouTube, etc….

Money is at stake and people are actually trying to cheat their way into views and recognition.

Could have just saw your pitcher really good. Did he lose the game? There are certain things I look for. Dotting with low control pitchers, scoring when they need to (like if you would have taken a lead and he magically started doing it again), if it happens to multiple pitchers and you can also slide step which throws off the cheat device because of the different release point. These are for the discord one. As far as I know the other one doesn't do hitting, only pitching.

Connections vary game to game. At least for me and I am on wired fiber internet. It has done this on PS5 and Series X. I truly don't know how people get constant connections in this game. I played ball at a high level so maybe I see things other people don't. There are seasons on this game I don't hit as good as I did in A ball which completely baffles me. Lately the pitches have looked like they are 120 mph and I wonder how on earth people are hitting .450 on legend. I can watch a streamer play legend and it looks like slow pitch softball compared to what I see on all star. Someone posted a response about it but even if I am just watching and not swinging, it looks way faster on my screen. Being a former high level baseball player, seeing and reading the pitches shouldn't be an issue but it is a lot of time. Being my age, I understand and have zero problem if my reactions are a little slow. That being said though the games I'm seeing lately I couldn't hit when I was 21.

All online games are infested. That is just a fact no one can dispute and it's been this way for a decade. Lucky for us, I never suspected people of cheating in this game until last year. People do it for different reasons. Make friends online by appearing better than they really are, tired of thinking they are getting cheated on, not being able to perform like they want in their favorite game, frustrate opponents, stick it to the game devs, etc.

I was wondering if the connections game to game were what was getting me. I can’t adjust as well as the guys who play this game for a living so I’ll go from being horrible to crushing it one game to the next.

Definitely unfortunate if there’s that many cheaters in this game. Truly didn’t expect or realize it. I’ll pay more attention.

You just likely don't notice them. The pitching one is very prevalent. I see this way more than the discord one.

I've been saying for a while this game is infested. WAY too many people dotting with pitchers.

That was my experience today. Saw a lot of pitch after pitch where the baseball just grazes the strike zone...
