Basically Pay to Win
-
The game seems obvious in favoring guys who pay for stubs rather than guys who truly grind. Definitely putting this game under the “Pay-to-Win” category.

I'll never agree that it is pay to win. Because a good player with a low diamond or gold team can beat a bad player with a god Squad.
If you really want to see pay to win check out Out of The Park Baseball. It is a great sim and the best GM/Manager sim on the market but since it is based on simulated games it's perfect team mode can usually be summed up into he who has the best players has the best odds.

I haven't bought a single stub and I have the LS completed, am 2 vouchers from 99 Miggy, and 5 vouchers from 99 Martinez.
Did I get lucky with some pulls (Shohei AND Judge)? Yes.
But I have a competitive team just by playing the game.
Far from 'Pay to Win'.
-
Also haven't bought stubs, had LS done in April, (didn't pull Ohtani or Judge)have miggy and am 4 players from vmart.
Know what you are doing and you don't have to buy stubs.
-
@Dolenz_PSN Well then explain to me the complete utter domination of a pitching performance through 8 innings being up by 7 runs against close to all Red Diamond 99s just for them to go bloop shot after bloop shot for the win lol
-
Easy.you got 24 outs not 27.how many no hitter have been broken up in the 9th inning(almost half of them) how many times has a team need just 1 win to clinch but loses the series (the 2019 Nats faced multiple elimination games each series and won all of them)
Being on the verge and coming up short has been a reoccurring theme throughout baseball history.
It sucks majorly when it happens, got to do what real life players do, forget it and go to the next game like it never happened. -
@Dolenz_PSN You can play with just Gold cards and keep the CPU's offense at bay.
-
@xXwhiteboy21X_PSN I have not spent a dollar on the game, outside of the one time bundle I think it’s like 7k stubs for like 2$ so basically Nms. And I have pretty much any card in the game one could desire V-mart, miggy, tulo. now yes I have had lucky pulls and was jobless from release to about 4 weeks ago. But have never had to spend money and u don’t have to either flipping is basically generating stubs. Just grind out mini seasons conquest and eventually luck will be on ur side u will get ur big pull eventually. Even tho yes they are getting slightly more and more greedy it’s still the best ultimate team mode for ur pocket.

Nope completely false. I have live series and just got Victor completely free to play. I am not a 10-0 goon or a legend player and did not do the pack glitch. I hang out around 750-850. You just have to be willing to put in the time to regrind mini seasons and DQ.
-
@Rhyno1986_XBL this is exactly the mindset.

I’ve been saying this since release. The thing is that most people here seem to want to whine about the grind while also whining they have nothing grind.
-
@JDHalfrack_PSN people just want stuff handed to them.

They act like peasant larpers, who only do this for clout.

My only thing with this is this puts you in the top 10% of players- It's not as easy as you're making it sound. The bulk of players fall into Allstar (350-499 according to a google search, could be off a bit). The vast majority (including myself) just aren't that good. In a good season I could maybe hit 600?, other issue I simply don't have enough time to play that much that I improve (although I want to).
-
@xXwhiteboy21X_PSN I pulled JRam and Skubal and I’m completely NMS.
-
@Sarge1387_PSN I fall somewhere in that All Star range, but with no money spent I've still finished the live series collection, earned Cabrera and I'm just a few collections away from getting Martinez. It's a tough grind but very doable regardless of skill level.
-
@whitejw98_MLBTS it’s very doable I’m NMs like I’ve said have I had good pack luck yes, yes I have. Did I need to grind for those packs yes I did. Now I’m like 800-900 on the higher end of 800 rn I think like 870 or smt but all the mini seasons is grinding for the packs. Last mini season I did I was lucky enough to pull judge and get V mart. I have miggy v mart tulo. New summer collection done. It’s all about mindset it’s still easily the best NMs game out there for ultimate team modes.
-
@Onix_Savage22_PSN I don't even really grind mini seasons that much. I usually play each one long enough to earn all of the rewards once and then move on. Selling off dupes that I earn completing programs with a little bit of flipping here and there when I'm patient enough to deal with the bots, and it adds up fast.
-
@whitejw98_MLBTS I only rly grinded them like over and over and over early in the year I was bumping out like 5 wbc mini seasons a day it was before I retuned to work now I play them all once but I prioritize getting lucrative cards like ws inning bosses and multiplayer programs weekend classic cards quick selling high and buying back later.
-
So you have pulled Ohtani twice and Judge at least once? If I had pulled either even once this year I would have a completely different feeling about packs and this game in general. In 7 years of DD I have only pulled 1 gatekeeper 1 time and that was Judge last year. Even then he was only going for about 150K at the time so hadn’t exploded yet. Never pulled Trout in years past or any other big live series collection card.
Bottom line I’m either extremely unlucky, you are beyond lucky, or a combo of both.
