Anyone else sick of pulling the exact same cards from Deluxe packs?
I've opened 7 Deluxe Summer packs.
5 of them have been Jac Caglianone.
The last "Murals" Deluxe pack I got 3 Rod Carews

I've opened 5 deluxe and 1 premiere and to my surprise out of the 8 cards, I pulled 6 different cards. Only 2 dupes somehow.
Now with vintage on the other hand, I couldnt stop pulling Keke Hernandez lol

Yeah, it should not really happen on a 1 in 6 chance. I think the odds are somewhere between 1 in 80 and 1 in 90 of getting the same outcome 5 out of 7 times.

What's weird is it's not really even a 1:6 chance if you're looking specifically at one card (Jac Caglianone in this instance). It's a 2 in 15 chance (or 1 in 7.5). The actual odds of getting Jac Caglianone 5 out of 7 packs is closer to like 0.1% or 1 in 1000.
The 1 in 80ish number you gave appear to be more along the lines of getting 5 of the 1:6 cards in general, not specifically the same one five times. If that makes ense.

I dont buy packs, and I dont open them with the expectation of getting a card that I need. So if I get a duplicate my reaction is just 'oh cool. Free stubs.' It's much easier to just save up and flip my way to what I want without relying on packs.
