It is super tough to read the name of the OP and see who is posting what and getting confused they aren’t the same person. Stay strong you’ll get through it. Weeding is weely twicky

@whitejw98_MLBTS I can say from what I read for the regulars of these forums, it’s less about screaming about issues in the game because we hate or even dislike it…A lot of these guys are virtually life long fans/players of the franchise and have had to endure something worse then the game just going away. Which is watching something you love deteriorate right before you. This is a great place to vent those frustrations with (for the most part) like minded individuals. With that being said we still play and hold on to hope that it will improve, despite the likelihood of that being slim to none.

Well, then it seems you are most easily confused! Perhaps some objectivity in your life might thicken your ability to understand nuance.

We continue to remain here to criticize this game because the vast majority of us who do so used to be very positive about this game title in particular and SDS in general. It took years of neglect, and frankly some outright malice by SDS to switch us into critics.

Now perhaps your agenda doesn't allow for that and if so that's your choice, but hardly shared by most people. This is the first year MLB The Show was released without my purchasing it in over six years. This because truth is we very much enjoy playing a quality baseball video game, and in the past when there were options, I did purchase baseball games from multiple venders. We love the game, and for me at least I'm far too old to play it any longer, so a video game is the closest I can come to experiencing that thrill of squaring up a pitch, or making a nice defensive play.

If you are still confused, then I submit it is an issue on your end that only you can solve.

    Cheers!

100% agree with OP's sentiment. And I can't lie, with all the f*ckery that's gone on with this game the past two or three releases and this one in particular- it's definitely left a sour taste in my mouth. But sadly, I'll probably get it again next year because I enjoy hanging out with my buddy and playing coop.

I am, admittedly, ready to try Konami's eBaseball Pro Spirit in a few weeks time despite the fact it lacks things like DD, Coop etc. My thing is if Konami is prepping to enter the North American/Western market this could be a good thing...competition in this industry is usually a great thing for consumers.

Let’s just play the game and focus on the big issues

I agree, but the problem is that these big issues have snowballed from so many of the little things. Small issues when left over time, become bigger problems. Nipping smaller potatoes in the bud and being proactive would be a really good way to operate. To your point however, are some just stupid nitpicking? Yeah, absolutely. But you have to admit SDS needs to do a far better job of taking care of issues.

If they even just came out and said "Hey, we've heard the complaints about (presently minor issue) not working correctly. Team's looking into it" when it was still a small thing, that would go a long, long way.

I hope SDS hears all of this as, “we have a passionate set of gamers who simply want the game experience to be better”

Because NOT commenting at all should send a serious message to them. Having an apathetic fan base means less revenue.

He is correct, the same types of complaints year after year arrive at the forums.

That isn't called ignorance, it's called common sense.

Time for them to sell the rights and let a more efficient company make the game. They are not capable and that’s the truth.

Let’s be honest there is atleast handful in these forums alone that will complain about literally anything. Even if a new company takes over they will just slander them next.

So did nothing happen to YFK regarding the wbc glitch? He did a video absolutely blasting them AND had thousands of packs. If not him who did they punish or did they completely puss out? Or are they still working on it?

Would be so nice for a huge banhammer on all 3rd party devices. Would be a completely different game especially in the higher ranks.

The two things happening now that would have me considering not playing next year are.

    1. Seemingly no repercussions yet for exploiters. It doesn't effect my play much, if any at all, but the signal it sends to those of us who follow the rules is that we will get the short end of the stick.

    2. The top cards for my favorite team and how they are earned. It is just not fun or sustainable for me. I don't flip cards and I don't invest. I play more casually than many and my reasonable goal is to just collect the cards from my favorite team. I even expected and accepted that Pujols would be unattainable for me from the moment he was announced.

I appreciate that we are getting more Cardinal cards than last year but i'm tired of just needing to buy them outright.

    OVR	Player How Earned
    **99	Albert Pujols Collection**
    **97	Lance Berkman Chase Pack**
**96 JJ Wetherholt Rising Rookies Pack**
    **96	Ted Simmons Chase Pack**
    94	Matt Carpenter Program Reward
    **93	Bob Gibson Mural Pack**
**93	JoJo Romero May Drop 5 Pack**
    **93	Terry Pendleton Vintage Pack**
**92	Bryan Torres May Drop 4 Pack**
**92	Jordan Walker April Drop 5 Pack**
    92	Ozzie Smith Diamond Quest
    **92	Tyler O'Neill Vintage Pack**

This one is actually bothering me. I feel like they are afraid to do anything becuase of YFK and his fanboys.

Its okay that the menus often lag because some people always complain.
Its okay that the communication around the exploit has been abysmal because some people always complain.
Its okay that bugs continue to linger year after year because some people always complain.

This is the message some of you want to send to SDS? Really?

I think you are putting words in their mouth.

It's possible to say that "we get these same complaints/threats every year" without passively condoning any of those items.

I am one of the voices that say that they should ban the exploiters and I still will confirm that threats to quit the game over issues, whether big or small, happen every single year and that most don't follow up on them.

But there seems to be a denial that this year is different. At the very least its undeniable that this is the worst state the game has been in on a technical level (excluding launch months) in a very long time.

I do agree on the threats, and I call out the absurdness of GTA VI releasing in November having this huge impact in 2027.

I will say this: the last 6 weeks I have played The Show less than any 6 week period that I can recall, except for maybe late December/January. I will 100% not preorder the game next year. However, if there is a baseball season it is still probable I get the game because I'm sure they will adjust for next year.

I would love to see their internal metrics about player engagement for this year though.

Is it really absurd? If you don't spend money, flip, elite or have great pack luck, MLB has turned into a game where you have to play a ridiculous amount of time to keep up. At one point I was averaging 3 hours a day and did not have Miggy or LS done and being Ohtani was around 750k wasn't even really close to either. Say you get GTA and really like it and only have a few hours to play each night. Why would you buy baseball knowing that the majority of good cards are unattainable especially if you are playing another game for several hours a day? They feel unattainable to me without trying to play another game. I think GTA taking away from baseball is a really viable threat especially with the glitchers, cheaters, pci shrinkage, cost of some LS cards, collection requirements, etc.

If people were really quitting, they’d have already done it.

Every single person who is continuously complaining will be back here next year complaining again. I’ve seen it for as long as these forums have existed.

They are worse than the game itself, if you want my opinion. Go through any post on this forum asking a seemingly trivial question, or looking for advice, or honestly even pointing out an annoying bug/feature. You’re likely to find three or four posts into it someone crabbing again about something not even related to the original topic. It’s obnoxious.

Give it a rest. If the game makes you that mad, demand a refund, don’t buy it next year, and leave the forums. Everyone will be better off for it.

This has been said about every game that’s been released over the past five years. The Show still goes on.

For me, I’m keeping an eye on how SDS handles the “exploiters” FIRST. All other game play issues are secondary to me. The “exploiters” issue calls into question big picture issues (like game and company integrity). And if not handle sufficiently, SDS may become a company I choose not to support.

Having said that, there are other glaring issues with the game this year. IMO, it’s in the worst shape technically and gameplay-wise since I’ve been playing. By far….

Ban the “exploiters” for the rest of the year. Then, start attacking the other stuff. Priorities.

I agree with this. If nothing noticeable is done either to, or as a result of, the exploiters, that would be a huge negative. I actually could see people leaving the game because of that.
