I'm fairly confident Manny Ramirez will be released later this year.

Haven't seen anything on this, but my working theory goes as follows:

If you open the collections page and look at the Prestige Diamond/Blood Diamond cards you'll see the 9 currently known cards you can lock in and start working towards making red through grinding stats. They are the 3 live series collection cards, (Biggio, Sheffield, Mantle) the 1st inning bosses, (Oswalt, Helton, Snider) and the 2nd inning bosses. (Carter, Ramirez, Feller)

7 of those 9 cards are listed solely by their last name. The other 2 are listed with a first initial as well as last name. (J. Carter, and H. Ramirez.) I'm assuming this is because SDS has plans to release more cards we can prestige with the same last name as these 2.

Safe to say the other Carter will be Gary, so if my theory is correct there will be another Ramirez and my bet is on Manny.

Thoughts?

I would love to have Manny in the game (and I hope you're right) but it could also be for a prestige Jose Ramirez in the XP prestige reward path

I thought about this too, and it is very possible, but I just don't think Manny would be a midseason reveal. He seems like a guy they would include in marketing the game

agree. Manny hitting bombs over the green monster would have been better for marketing early on rather than late in the game.

Aramis Ramirez is another possibility.

It could just be because there’s sooooo many Ramirez’s in baseball lol.

I mean, if you say Biggio, Sheffield, Mantle, Helton, Oswalt, Snider, or Feller, everybody knows exactly who you’re talking about.

Just say Carter or Ramirez, and there’s a boat load of people you could be talking about.

As a Red Sox fan Manny seems like it would be fun but in reality he isn’t really playable. His defense would be pretty bad. He is basically in the game already as jd Martinez. Jd crushes the ball in the game but you can’t play him because his d is such a liability. Maybe a bench bat but tough to get too excited for a bench bat

And if they do, they think of him as "Craig Biggio's son Cavan Biggio"

They could not release a single new card all year as long as they fixed gameplay and I'd be perfectly happy
