Sure, it would be great if my base runners never ran me out of an inning because they got it in their minds to try for an extra base when I told them not to, or because they wanted to all have a tea party at the same base.

I’d love to always get a hit when I make perfect contact.

I’d love it if I could control my pitchers even a little bit more, or if my fielders would stop acting like they were in Little League rookie.

But the one thing that ruins this game the most for me is the way many of us play online. Sadly, wanting to win at all costs and using every exploit conceivable is almost the norm, at least in the lower levels where I find myself mostly.

The one thing SDS can’t do a thing to fix is the thing that wrecks the game for me more than any other.

It's the nature of online games. Just like CoD where people just take roof positions and snipe all day long, people will do anything for stats. Sad, but it will never change.

The only real answer is to just PLAY video games. And compete realistically in mental games IRL against people or compete PHYSICALLY in real life against other people. Im in my 40's now, so the physical part is mostly over, but I cannot transfer it into a video game. I still in my mind I can go out and hit a baseball better IRL then I can on this game. Just from learned muscle memory. And remembering my older coaches doing it in practices.

Yeah, you guys have hit it on the head.

I think I need to just play vs friends online more. Anyone having good experiences in custom leagues?

I'm a fan of leagues. I commish several, of varying difficulty. For the most part, you're playing against others who just want to have fun and play the game the right way and maybe make some pals along the way.

... That being said, there are those who exploit in leagues too. Some people can only enjoy if they win at all costs. Some just want to play a solid game of baseball.

TL;DR - Find a solid, relaxed league and give it a try. With nothing on the line as far as rewards go, it doesn't bring out the worst in people like RS or BR does (most of the time)

Sounds promising. I need to make friends with some more folks in this community.
