SDS Turning Into 2K Money Grabbers
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN so why are you playing game mode with a market in the first place?
Sounds like you should just play franchise.
Sounds like you shouldnt worry about my game and go cry in the corner because stock market simulator took away your favorite part of a BASEBALL game.
-
move on man.
Finally, one of you is talking sense.
-
You’re an offline only player?
Again. This post was not for you. Move along to your forums and leave us alone. None of this affects you either way.
-
@AxiomEnigma_XBL who? I am on your side bud. But I am not dealing with these blowhards who know everything and shout you down. Let the rump rangers enjoy the “healthy market”. lol, those of us who know have already figured out other ways to make stubs when we are away from our monitors. Screw these clowns.

You’re an offline only player?
"If i do play online, its not until the break anyway."
I guess reading just isn't your thing. I do play online occasionally. Just not until the break.

This game is no where near 2k and never will be. You do need to understand those that try to flip the market are far less than that throw hundreds of dollars into the game. Once you get that simple realization that SDS is a company that wants to make money and profits off this game to be a successful company is when it’s that as long as they are making money they don’t need to go away from this model that has been in sports games for years and is becoming worse for the players that don’t want to spend money. They won’t cater to those that are NMS because they just get your $70/$90 for the year. They want people to throw money at the game. It’s really just as simple as that. They won’t change anything until people stop throwing money into a $90 game.
-
I am just tired of the toxic nonsense with all the dishonesty from the investors. Stop trying to sell this as some huge disaster to the average player.
-
@AxiomEnigma_XBL your post is is a Karen post cry more. If you played the game as much as you cry you wouldn’t need to flip cards
-
The market is healthy! Bots aren’t ruining anything.
-
@SaveFarris_PSN except they’re not. Sure, unusable golds and silvers are at quicksell, but the live series collection is still 2.5 million. Ohtani and Judge are almost a million alone.
But you’ve been told low pack odds and flipping bots is good market health, so you just repeat it and tell everyone how happy you are.
By the way, did you like your day one Mike Trout with 1/40 odds? Or how about your collection you need 140+ cards for, at a price of over 500k on the low side?
-
@prettyyboyfloyd_PSN There is an argument to be made that cheaper cards is better for (most) players. Great so my Bryan Woo diamond isn't worth 12k I have to sell him for 6k? Well the other cards are cheaper to so I dont' need that 12k.
It also makes sense to keep prices down to make buying stubs attractive, why the [censored] would I buy stubs if Cal Raleigh is like 300k? But if he's 100k and that's all I need left, it will take me just one purchase.
I myself don't purchase stubs or totally agree with this change, but keeping cards cheaper do benefit people. If i didn't invest, but it still existed, the cards get more expensive and I get left behind.
Maybe you would call those people lazy, not hard enough grinders or whatever, your call. It does benefit people though,
-
@xero4019_XBL you should judge the value of live series in terms of how many gold cards it takes. If gold cards are 2.5k, a 2.5m set is a lot easier than when golds average 600-700.
Yes, the total is still high. Ohtani is now 500+ gold cards. Last year he was 150-200 so when you grind out that ballin’ is a gold pack you were 2-3 times closer to finishing live series than you are today.
And that’s specifically because unused cards are all sitting at quick sell and credit card burners are driving up the price of the 9-15 best cards sky high. Because there’s no reason now to buy and hold any more than 1 copy of cards that aren’t on your team.
-
@eatyum_PSN you get paid in packs. The packs contain 99.9% cheap cards.
When investors drive the price of those cheap cards up you are getting a raise. When they sell those cards and the price sits at quick sell you are getting minimum wage.
You have to rip 3-4 times as many ballin packs to quick sell the golds to get an ohtani this year compared to last year.
You took a 75% pay cut and you think that’s good?
Do you want a job IRL? I’ll hire you.
-
@eatyum_PSN it didn’t keep prices down. All the gatekeepers are at the same level as last year. Argument is dead in the water.
-
Or how about your collection you need 140+ cards for, at a price of over 500k on the low side?
You mean that collection that has over 100 cards available for free just by playing the game?
-
The market is healthy!

The market is healthy!
And that's hopefully the last time I am going to read that phrase. I'm not overly invested in either side but seeing that same exact phrase 10 or so times has kind of soured me on your side.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN “taking away their way of doing things is fine because I like my way”
-
FWIW, I don’t have much of an opinion here either. I guess if I had a vote, I’d lift the 20 card limit. Why? To me, this is simply a video game. Let me play how I want to. Invest or not invest? Flip or not flip? Hit homers or not? Whatever….
Of course, I’d also make everything you earn sellable. I’d also make perfect/perfect hits in Moments be homers. So, what do I know?

What is the genesis of trying to kill the investment side of this game? Are you hoping we investors and collectors will just empty our wallets and buy stubs? Quite the opposite. These restrictions STOPPED me from buying stubs.
With this one excerpt, you contradicted the ridiculous title of this post. The "investors", which is a stupid term to use in a BASEBALL game, are the ones who normally empty their wallets to stock up on hundreds of silvers and golds waiting for them to turn diamond so they can jack up the prices anyway. SDS putting a cap on your stockpile kills the idea of wanting people to buy stubs.
Most of us just...ya know....play the game for free packs and stubs. Not everyone has the "gotta have it all, gotta have it right now" mentality.
I can not agree with you more. There are plenty of packs and cyclable resources to increase your stub stash. This game is a marathon not a sprint. If you sprint in this game you wind up broke. You can use the market to supplement like I do to do some lazy flipping but I do it only 15 to 30 minutes a day. 99.9% of resources I have accumulated has been from playing the game.
