Who is in Charge of Marketing?

This is the most quiet I've seen the forums this close to launch. Idk if it is because of marketing, but it's not a good look.

Never seen anything like this. Hopefully, the right people in management are having some very serious meetings regarding the very poor direction this game is heading. Hate to be this guy, but people honestly deserve to lose their jobs.

@Jacob151167_XBL yeah, I usually buy the digital deluxe every year, but I haven't seen anything to convince me to buy this year, even with the 10% discount.

Yep, I feel the same way. I'm just hoping I don't have to wait for the All-Star game sale. Realistically, hopefully it's 30-40% off in a month. That's probably the only way I'll buy it. I've been playing since 989 Studios.

The reason is no secret. It was a reality under heavy customer discussion here dating back to the release of MLB 25. SDS was bluntly warned that they were guilty of releasing new titles containing paltry upgrades. SDS was told that if this multi-year theme continued, enthusiasm and sales would suffer. And, that is precisely what is happening.
If one could get SDS leadership in an environment where they could speak their mind freely, I figure they would agree.
Marketing can only do so much. If the basic reality of the title is undermined by years of paltry upgrades, then charging $100 to $75 per unit is going to see greatly diminished sales and enthusiasm. This isn't a marketing issue, folks. This is an issue resulting from running SDS on too lean a development budget and too light a vision for keeping the title at the forefront of video game technology.

Had convinced myself to preorder a couple weeks ago. Cancelled said pre order yesterday. Hope it over delivers and I’ll buy on sale later. If not I’ll continue with ‘25. Very surprised at the quality of this years reveals and streams.

Sony knows how to make a great video baseball game but they haven't known how to market it since the Kevin Butler days. #WellPlayed

It seems they’ve decided to spend absolutely nothing on both marketing and development this year after being incredibly stingy with it until now.
Could this be interpreted as a signal that they’re saving up to invest in a next-gen game engine? -

Could this be interpreted as a signal that they’re saving up to invest in a next-gen game engine?I think they simply invested heavy in the WBC portion of the game this year. They confirmed that the rosters for all the teams will be authentic which is absolutely a huge W since that guarantees the inclusion of some former names who haven't been in the game in a while:
- James Paxton
- Alexei Ramirez
- Didi Gregorious
- Hyun-Jin Ryu
- Julio Teheran
That is a lot of non-MLB players to sign which I have to assume ate up the budget for the more traditional Legends pool this year.
Although to that point, it is even more baffling they went to those lengths to make it as legitimate as possible and still decided not to add a separate WBC mode outside of DD.
