I wonder if a series specific affinity program would be a good idea.

WBC is the perfect example: There should be 50+ WBC cards in inning 1 next year so why not have some type of affinity where you can get progress in many different ways: you can play a mini season for vouchers, or maybe you win online games, Showdown worked well for this in the past, etc.

The other big obvious one is Negro leagues

I liked the idea behind the vouchers in that you could earn points for something before it was released. But the execution could definitely be tweaked.

One suggestion: for the ASG series, have the voucher be for a retro ASG card for the specific team. You then use that card (and other various program tasks (moments, missions, collections, etc) to get the current ASG card.

This gives you the immediate earn AND something to earn after the drop.

So, I just made a post going over what I liked and didn't like about MLB The Show 25 Diamond Dynasty - spoiler alert, there's a lot of negative topics, but now I'd like to go over some ideas I have that can negate a lot of those negatives that I and a lot of he community have:
    More Legends (Obviously)
It's honestly sad how games like NBA 2K, Madden, and NHL have absurd amount of legend players, compared to SDS' measly 250. I also love how few they lose per year, compared to SDS' annual 10 or so legends that abandon ship. I update my legends list every year, so we'll see who gets added next year, but there better be some big names.
    New Card Series Ideas
Let's be real, the meta cards are usually either one of these 5 card series: 2025 Finest, Finest, Milestone, Awards, and Signature. It gets bland, repetitive, and boring. Nobody is saying get rid of any of these card series', but I am asking for some new ones. It would give content a refreshing look. I have some ideas like Payday (Juan Soto 765 million), Runner-Up (Matt Kemp 2011 NL MVP), League-Leaders (these players shouldn't be highlighted in Milestone), and One Season Wonders (Brady Anderson, R.A. Dickey, Adam Frazier, Rick Porcello, etc.). Bringing back old ones like Incognito, retro HRD and ASG, 42, and Prestige would be great.
    A Revamped Gameplay Engine
If SDS wants people to continue playing this game online, gameplay needs to be a top priority right now. Hitting is so random, inconsistent, and mindless, and it often seems like the better player loses due to poor game logic. Check swings clearly don't abide by any rules, ball-to-bat physics don't even apply to physics, and 99 steal Elly De La Cruz getting thrown out by live Agustin Ramirez or picked off by Edwin Diaz should be criminal.
    A New Online Game Mode
I like the idea of something like a salary cap mode. Let's say you have 35 million dollars to spend: 99s cost 5 million, 94-98 cost 4 million, 88-93 cost 3 million, 84-87 cost 2 million, and anything 83 and below cost 1 million, and you have to strategically build a team based on these restrictions. This is like a combination of Battle Royale and Events into one game mode that involves team restrictions, and strategically using lower overall cards. Also, please bring back good rewards for Events and BR. Ranked/Weekend Classic being the only online game mode with player rewards above 97 overall is unacceptable.
Return to the Divisional Team Affinity Model
This is a big one. The way Team Affinity was executed this year was embarrassing. The fact that there were only 5 diamonds for each team over 7 months is laughable. The voucher collection is just a lazy to way to give out content. Returning to the old divisional would make a lot of people happy and was just better than the singular team model.

Those are all good ideas! I'd also add bring back better event game conditions. Such as only live series with a 89 ovr team cap and a only team build (only cards in team binder) or make it sound any player that has played for that team gets a team captain boost. Also I love the addition of WC but it needs to be checked. When ypur a player like me who hovers around 700-850 when you run into multiple 1000 rated sandbagging players it's no fun. The idea was great players your skill level, but has turned into a mess with sandbagging players intentionally not playing just to scoop the most rewards. I do however think I liked how Team Affinity was done, not how the cards where dropped. But the fact if you just used a certain team that you got more points for just that team to progress. More legends for sure, but I do understand SDS in that regards as to 1) the player has to agree and 2) then they have to negotiate how much to pay them for their likeness. I'm sure it gets hard when certain people want the BIG $$$$ to let them be used. Also last thing I'd also add is something MORE in RTTS (be able to buy equipment with your salary). Think it might be easy just add the equipment into a store inside RTTS and then buy them there. It's not like the equipment gives boosts in DD so why even have it there just completely take them out of packs in DD.

Yes, everything you said. Team Affinity killed it for me this year. That’s always my favorite part of the game. Having a free voucher exchange and no playable content for the All Star and Finest killed this game’s momentum.

This game needs a severe overhaul in how it’s played, Diamond quest had a lot of promise but making it moments and showdowns before 2 inning game made it boring as sin.

    My ideas for DQ

    1. When you fail to get a card your earned progress (% boost) carries over to the next run
    2. You have choices when you land on an event square: For example a choice of 2 of the three: moment, showdown, 3 inning game
    3. Give the player a bit more agency elsewhere as well. Instead of just a random debuff, give a choice of accepting a minor debuff, or losing 2% towards your progress in exchange for a diamond buff

Troy Tulowitzki, Jose Reyes, and Jose Fernandez are must legends to add for me.
Also ADD MORE CREATE A JERSEY CUSTOMIZATION PLZ! Would be could to recreate or change some of the city connects or make different ones for my teams using the patterns. And where’s a basic camo pattern that I can chose the 3 or 4 colors to make up that pattern then make my logos and stuff (and add my logos to the sleeves and back of the collars!).

any player that has played for that team gets a team captain boost

I think I like this. So for example, the HOF Vlad Sr card could be boosted by not just the Angels captains, but also the Nationals, Rangers, and Orioles captains. Is that what you are thinking? This is especially helpful when a player gets a card early in the power creep with lower OVR on one team and then gets a 99 on another team later. Some theme teams may be so unbalanced with options at positions and available cards. My Angels theme team has no Lefty bats now that the new Taylor Ward replaced Rod Carew (Ward in LF, Baylor to 1B). Would be nice to put an Ohtani in there somewhere! It could fill a lot of holes in a lot of people’s theme teams.

The downside to the 'every team a player has played for' thing will be cases like Manny Ramirez for the Rays. And it also might encourage them to make less cards.

I don't know what the answer is for guys that should have high 90s on multiple teams though. Like the recent Sheffield card could easily have been a Braves or Marlins card. Nothing seems to anger some people more than a player getting multiple deserved cards.

I think they should focus on getting a lot of cheap legends this year. We already have most of the big legends people want, so get a bunch of guys who had 1 or 2 exciting years (Chris Davis, Tim Lincecum, Wade Davis, people like that)

This idea here MUST be implemented if they want to make DQ accessible to those of us who play on AllStar and below. An absolute must.

LS 90+ Diamond drop rates need boosted. Theres no reason, with less than 4 mos left in the game cycle, that LS Judge and LS Ohtani still are at 500K/300K.

I would say they should focus on guys who had good years for multiple teams, but then Reggie Sanders fits that mold as well as anyone in recent MLB history and they just gave him two Reds cards....
