    The main post

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news but almost nobody scrolls back up to the first message in a thread that they have already read. It's useful as a repository of all of the info but otherwise I am guessing most people are missing the edits you make to it.

    I made the same mistake with the Dustin May signing for the Cardinals.

    REJOICE ANGELS FANS. ANTHONY RENDON HAS AGREED TO RESTRUCTURE HIS CONTRACT AND TO DEPART FROM THE TEAM.
    Yeah you guys also signed Kirby Yates. How anticlimactic.

    @Talkingben9558_XBL

    I would have to say that was a good signing as long as he is not our ace. Back end of the rotation 3-5, solid, top of rotation, bad.

    Not an Angels fan, but I nominate the Angels for best off-season just for that.

    I've made a bunch of updates to the main thread. Sorry I haven't been actively updating this lately. Got a lot on my plate but I'll be picking it up from now on. Also I do want to talk about the Red Sox failure to really get anything done this offseason on the free agent market. They were one of the most active teams, especially early in FA last year, signing Aroldis Chapman, Steven Matz, Justin Wilson, Jovani Moran, and more. This year? They've yet to sign a free agent to an MLB contract. Yes, the Colorado Rockies have spent more money than the Red Sox. This is a team that has been involved in pretty much every big bat's market so far like Alonso, Schwarber, Murakami, Okamoto, Suarez, and more. What have they done instead? Literally nothing more than help the Cardinals dump off some salary by taking on a 36-year-old former Cy Young finalist coming off a down year who's owed 25 million this year, a catcher-turned first baseman who's owed 35 million over the next 2 seasons, and a starter with a career 4.24 ERA (aka Johan Oviedo). They apparently have a whole at first base (the Casas hate is wild but it's primarily due to injury concerns but he has a career .800 OPS when healthy). Are they upgrades: yeah, sure, but when got first-rounded by a division rival, have all this financial freedom, lacked an above-average rotation excluding Crochet who, without him, they wouldn't have even made the playoffs, and now have lost your superstar third baseman after you allegedly made an "aggressive offer" a day prior, you have to think: what the [censored] is going on? As for the Cubs, they filled pretty much the only hole in their lineup. Bregman is no Kyle Tucker, and it'll surely be interesting to see how he performs in Wrigley, but this is an incredible splash by Chicago. Matt Shaw was, quite frankly, mechanically off throughout the entire season. He has a good glove but his bat is a weak link (think of a less-extreme version of Nick Allen). For a team that competes in a division with a small payroll yet it's somehow always competitive (Brewers, Cubs, and Reds, and maybe even the Pirates now that they signed O'Hearn and acquired Brandon Lowe, and a have a solid rotation), so this was a very necessary move for Chicago. Boston has a similar situation where pretty much every team in the division is competitive (the Blue Jays have spent an astronomical amount, the Orioles have plugged almost every hole, the Yankees have done nothing outside of bringing back Grisham and Amed Rosario but are still a juggernaut, and the Rays just do Rays things), so Boston better pick it up or else they might have a bit more than one problem on their hands.

    The Mets have made Kyle Tucker a short-term offer worth over 50 million per year.
