Well, here's my take on the Bichette signing. First of all, suck it, Phillies. Second of all, the Mets clearly and hilariously hit the panic button with this one. So the Mets are emphasizing defense this year. They let Alonso walk for a bag of [censored], traded Nimmo for Semien, yet they sign Bo Bichette, a man who quite frankly isn't a good defender at short, to play third base, a position he has never played in his life, for 42 million a year. It's insane. His bat is incredible, don't get me wrong, but it contradicts everything Stearns was saying he was going to do and I'm not sure it's a great fit. I also get the vibe he's going to slump mightily in New York (thank you once again Toronto for the prime of Thor). I've got mixed feelings about this. Sue me.
