Favorite MLB Announcer

Even though I'm a Mets fan and agree that Gary Cohen is probably the best current announcer, Matt Vasgersian is simply on another level. I know he still occasionally calls Angels games, but other than that he's basically non-existent. He was absolutely ELECTRIC. His calls in the World Series, playoffs, and ESPN were incredible (especially that Giants vs. Cubs playoff series, Nationals vs. Giants series, 2015, 2016, 2019, & 2020 WS)

"Davis to left and well hit, OH MY, IT'S GOOOOOOONE! SANTA MARIA!" possibly the greatest call in history
-
"LINDOR WITH A SWING AND A DRIVE! AND IT IS GOOONE. SANTA MARIA!"
-
WALK-OFF SALAMI! HAVE A BITE OF WALK-OFF SALAMI SANDWICH"
-
"That ball is absoLUTELY CRUSHED!!!"
-
"And first pitch CRUSHING!"
Just some of his best calls. Anyway, let me know your thoughts.

Vin Scully. I grew up in SoCal and listened to him call many great games in the 80's. Would have loved to hear him call game 7 of this World Series.
Dave Sims. Listened to him call many Mariners games before, during, and after I was employed by the Mariners. Listened to him call the Yankees games in the WC and DS this year.
Rick Rizzs. Another Mariners radio announcer. He also did the commentary for a baseball game on the Nintendo. Maybe SDS should get him to do the commentary for this game.
Dave Niehaus. Another famous Mariners broadcaster. "Get out the rye bread and mustard, Grandma, it is grand salami time!" "My, oh my!" "It will fly away!" "Fly, fly away!"

Kevin Brown and Ben McDonald is one of my favorite duos
-
Harry Kalas was my favorite announcer, RIP

I'm a Blue Jays fan so I''ll take my 2 fav Jays play by play guys, Dan Shulman today and from the 90s Brian Williams(Not to be confused with the American newscaster that is a different Brian Williams )

To make up the commentary for franchise, it’d be cool if a YTer or streamer that’s a huge fan of the team would be the colored commentator for the team. It’d be too much for them to get 30 different voices plus a network voice (even tho I’d love that). So why not add 30 guys who love their teams to do it. It’d really mix up the games.
Like YourFriendKyle for the Gaints and maybe Jomboy for the Yankees

@TheBigPapa55_PSN Gary is very good. I remember when he was just doing radio!
I also agree about Vasgersian. In fact, bring him back to The Show!
I really liked Miller & Morgan on SNB.
I didn't care for Dave Sims on Yankee radio in his first year. Maybe it was that corny 'hey now,' a clear rip-off of Howard Stern!
I guess the late Tim McCarver might be my all-time fave. I'll never forget when he came to Mets broadcasts. He brought out the best in Ralph Kiner, who was a bit boring before Tim came! I liked Jim Kaat & Ken Singleton when they did Yankee games. In fact, I met them on consecutive days when I worked for a parking company back around 2000-01.
I'm old enough to remember the chemistry that Bill White, Phil Rizzuto, and Frank Messer had doing Yankee games! Let's not forget John Sterling. That whole Big Papi 'the-e-e-Yankees lose' is a nod to him & his call, but with 'win.'
I've heard so many over my years of listening to baseball voices.
I have to mention Marv Albert & Gary Thorne for Hockey, sorry! -
Ernie Harwell, none better
-
Ben McDonald for the win.
Tim McCarver is the reason baseball's popularity declined in the 90s.
