MLB The Show Coming to PC

Easy solution. PC players can only play PC players and Console players can only play console players.
Bingo. Not every PC player will cheat, but 100% many cheaters will be PC players. Every game with open cross play can back that up too.
So the best idea is your solution, or at least provide the option for crossplay to be "console only". I'm all for more people getting into the game, that's nothing but good for the health of the game itself, but there definitely needs to be safeguards in place

@TheBigPapa55_PSN BigPapa just ignore the dude he’s a troll. SDS has shown a serious lack of knowing how to do anything to be frank. A broken game. A broken hitting engine. Cheap servers. Bad connections. Constant menu freeze ups you name it. Graphical issues and rendering even though the grass is copy and paste and nothing in the background moves lol could go on and on and anyone expect them to utilize a good anti cheat software is delusional. And quit telling people to touch grass. Some of us are business owners and have very good jobs yet still love and deserve to be able to play the way we want when we pay 70 bucks or however much for a game. And many of us aren’t even gamers. We are just huge baseball fans.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL
What’s funny is how people join peaceful discussions just to instigate, and then get offended personally when someone says something they don’t like. Bro smh -
Why exactly are PC players cheaters? As a long-time Madden modder, I believe modding makes the game better. Simple things like walk-up songs, custom graphics, and simple mods like weather generators, replacing Kaiju with an actual usable feature in stadium creator, maybe even bring in more classic stadiums. Having it on PC with a robust modding community will only help. I am a long-time MLB The Show player... I even played MVP Baseball, and the mods in that game were amazing. PC users deserve a good baseball game.

Not every PC player is a cheater, but most of the cheaters in open-crossplay games are PC players.

I'm 100% with you on this, FO4 was AMAZING on console after Bethesda finally allowed the mods to come to console, was so much fun.

@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL I'm not a troll dude. Yeah, I was a bit too aggressive in my responses. But at the end of the day, if I'm willing to pay $70 (more likely $100 because I know I'll get the deluxe edition) to be able to play the game, I have a right to play the game too. You're no better than I am. And I am no better than you are. I'm a PC gamer. I'm not a cheater. I'm sure there are plenty of people just like me out there that also want to play The Show. The only mod I can think of that I would want to add is to get my favorite player back, Joey Votto. And that wouldn't be a disadvantage to anyone since his cards have never really been any better than the cards you see on most people's God squads. And that would likely be an offline only mod anyway. I'm simply a baseball fan and someone who plays PC games honestly and fairly. I didn't spent a ridiculous amount on an extravagant setup. I bought a Rog Ally X. It's pretty amazing, but it's not something that would give me a competitive edge over console gamers. I understand your arguments, as well as the other console gamers' arguments on why you guys don't want the game to come to PC. I just disagree.

@WilliamMorris_MLBTS fair enough. So someone educate me if you don’t mind. Does PC mean you will play with a mouse and keyboard like any other PC game or will it enforce a remote ? I’m not at all a gamer so I truly don’t have a clue. I would imagine as long as we could turn off crossplay there wouldn’t be harm ?
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL I believe that would all depend on what kind of setups people have. I don't have a typical PC. The Rog Ally X is a handheld gaming PC. Think of the Nintendo Switch, but with a windows operating system. So I would be using a controller. As far as everyone else, it would be personal preference between keyboard/mouse and a controller. I think that is a pretty decent proposal there. I think if they could be strict about cross platform multiplayer, it could work. I wouldn't mind having to face just PC players if it meant that I also get to have the game. I think surely there has to be some middle ground that we all can come to in order to enjoy the same game.
It was a difficult decision for me to ditch consoles. I grew up a gamer and have had the original PlayStation, the PS2, the Xbox 360, the Xbox One, and finally the Xbox Series X. But greed is ultimately what has pushed me to PC. Requiring people to pay monthly fees to play games online is something I'm just not okay with anymore. And I bought the Rog Ally X so I can play it anywhere I want. I can take it to work and play it during lunch. I can travel with it and play it on the go. If I'm visiting family, I can take it with me and play without having to worry about transporting my whole setup. And PC has steam, which is an amazing storefront. They always have sales and everything is located in one place. So for me, it's the best of both worlds. It's more cost efficient and it's more convenient for my daily life. -
I will be the first to admit that if this game comes to PC, I will mod the living [censored] out of it as much as I can get away with. For the betterment of the community as I always have with every other game I’ve ever modded.

And this statement is why PC players should only be allowed to play other PC players in H2H modes.

@JDHalfrack_PSN
How do you even mod a game I must ask? -

@JDHalfrack_PSN
How do you even mod a game I must ask?Depends on the game. Older games are easier, but newer games are possible. Basically mod them at the assembly level.
-
What would you mod though ? I’m clueless as to how this works.
-
@RAisEdByGoAt_XBL
Probably Stadium Creator for starters -

Stadium creator features for sure. CPU AI and engine. Basically whatever the people ask.
I’ve done a lot of work on the Madden mods for the PC and the NCAA Next mods for the PS2 emulator. Its graphical edits, its engine edits, its data storage edits, etc. you name it. If it can be modded… it will be.

I’m not sure if you guys know, but there is a computer cheating program for this game. Pretty sure it literally just plays the game for you and swing at the pitches you tell it to. I saw it on YT and it’s kinda crazy, but not many people use it as of now. Imagine this, and multiply by 50. The amount of people that will go to extreme lengths to cheat on this game and make lives miserable for legitimate players will single-handedly kill the game by porting it over to PC. Personally, I would’ve left the Show on PlayStation exclusively to begin with because the toll porting over to multiple consoles took on gameplay is sad.
I've seen the video on YouTube can't remember who posted it, but it doesn't play for you it just shows you where the ball is gonna end up and what pitch it is. There are people who are using cronos to instantly track pitches though as well.

I would lean towards it working just like any other game in PC where you can choose to use mouse and key board or plug in just about any controller.
-
@JDHalfrack_PSN well hell I’m down for this. I believe SDS is never going to fix any of the issues I and others constantly complain about so maybe you guys can. I have to restart the game every hour due to freezing in the menus. It’s ridiculous.
-
I hope there is the ability to take away outs and place the batter back up on PC. Rewind those stupid line outs vs CPU, and reduce the CPU diving catches and plays too.
-
@MycoSynth-Valde-_MLBTS
Why would one want that? To cheat?
