Done For This Year

Well its been sorta fun this year. It's always very similar content with subtle changes. Was able to collect all the way to Bautista, but beyond that had zero interest. Game kinda lost me when you go a secondary moonshot series and Ozzie Smith is part of it. Dude hit like 12 HRs in career but he has massive power. That's not what this game is about. Wasn't this always about producing the best simulation possible or are we headed the Call Of Duty way where we chasing around Beavis and Butthead and collecting Shamrocks for worthless rewards. The developers lose focus on what makes a great game in order line pockets with dollars and it shows in the content presented as the game gets deeper into its shelf life.
-
The whole point of moonshot is giving power to traditionally underpowered hitters
-
Then go! This is game tops all games. Too many people always complaining!
-
You played the game through nearly the entire regular season so you couldn't think it was that bad
-
I don't think anyone will know that your not here so have fun playing other games

The developers job is to line pockets with dollars. This is a business, not a charity.
There are plenty of valid criticisms about the state of the game, but "Business people are doing business" isn't one of them.

I will say, this reminds of 2K where Shaq can drain 3s like he is Steph Curry. Only it started around All Star break, and will likely start even sooner next year. Just like how 2K released a lower tier Vlade Divac day 1 that can drain 3s. Because cards arent meta if they cant shoot threes so everyone can shoot threes!
This has happened this year with contact/cutch in particular. 125 should be reserved for Ted Williams and Tony Gwynn types. And not a mid season Jose Bautista
-
I think it is funny that the Ozzie smith card was the breaking point.
Not draft picks like Ethan Holliday having 120/110 power
Not Bobby Seymour having 111/104 for hitting his first and only home run -

I am fine with prospect cards being based on a potential future superstar (I would be happier if they topped out at 96s or 97s though, unless its a Skenes level prospect), and Topps Now cards can be silly for sure but always have weaknesses. They are always behind the curve, and thats the way it should be.
I personally rarely use 99s. Maybe thats part of why I liked 2023 so much, because there was a constant stream of non 99s.
Im not a purist that wants a .250 average, but I think mid 90s is a sweet spot between cards being very, very strong but cards still have some representation of their player.
But most people dont want that. They want EVERY card to be absurd power and absurd contact, and say the card is 'unplayable' otherwise

@elway7751_PSN to quote many others in other i'm quitting posts, "this isn't the airport, you dont have to announce your departure."
-
@Dolenz_PSN i have not played in a bit, since BL4 is out. I do not have the Ozzie Card, i dont know if i'll play much more this year, with BL4, kids, vacation, etc. But i want to try that Ozzie card. lol. I've loved his swing, but the way the game is low power means more perfect fly outs. So it could be fun.
-
Litlle does he know that even with the power numbers its still tought to hit HR's with Ozzie.

Likewise, you're under no obligation to publicly chastise those who do!
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL but whiney bitches like yourself are fun to chastise. I imagine you’ll run upstairs and tell your parents how someone makes you feel on the internet. It’s ok pumpkin. You’ll be ok
-
#Waitasecond
Beavis & Butthead were in C.O.D.?
Was one wearing a Metallica shirt and blasting 'Disposable heroes?' That song is about a soldier, btw. That would make a little sense!
I hear you about Ozzie.
Imagine a Bartolo Colon card doing his flip 🤪
Now that would send me to play other games, lol. -

The irony...

I do not think SDS has ever claimed this game was an exclusive "simulation". While they do incorporate some realism into the game, it has always had some arcade aspects as well. I remember in '14 or '15, hitting a 500 ft.+ homerun with Edmonds, off of a pitch just above his shoe laces. That is not sim. -
@Teak2112_MLBTS the irony of what? you live in your parents basement too?
