Cleaning up the Vault
-
So, where are we at with cleaning up this vulgar mess of a Vault, not to mention the tens of thousands of duplicates? The disclaimer is nice and all, but that's not stopping anyone.
Any time a vulgar/offensive logo crops up (dozens of times daily), those are the ones most rapidly and often downloaded, which is just perpetuating the problem.
I suggest removing custom logos altogether, because we've been pressing you for years about it, but nothing happens.
-
I will disagree with you. Although, having said that, there are a great many customers who think SDS is engaging in a naked Machiavellian scheme to see all three surviving customer customization game modes become so inundated with vulgar and corrupted issues that it would give SDS political cover to say that's why they killed them.
If that really is SDS's scheme, then it's more ignorant than I think they are capable of being, but then again, SDS hasn't impressed me with their visionary actions of late, so perhaps I'm giving them too much credit here!
However, the logo vault is primarily honest and wholesome logos. SDS should have taken the same sort of actions many have urged upon them and console ID banned those who peddle in the vulgarity, same as they should have done with those who upload custom stadiums deliberately designed to harm the basic quality of online games.
If SDS were to kill Logo Editor, then they should just go ahead and kill Uniform Editor since the two go hand-in-hand with each other. I don't see SDS eliminating any of the three remaining: Stadium Creator, Logo Editor, or Uniform Editor. They are way too popular to the customer base.
My advice, speak to an attorney about legal options related to the "E" rating that MLB The Show holds with the ESRB in America and the PEGI in the EU. The US Supreme Court ruled that legal enforcement of ESRB ratings is unconstitutional, so if you live in the United States, I don't think you have any legal avenues to pursue. But, perhaps you live in a nation where there are some.

@PriorFir4383355_XBL If you've looked at it, you know [censored] well that most of the Vault is NOT wholesome. I'm not here to read all of this; I want something to be done, so that my kids don't see this [censored].

That, using an old phrase, is throwing the baby out with the bath water. Their inability or lack of desire or manpower to police the vault everyday is not an excuse to just get rid of it altogether.
I've said for years though that their vault is completely antiquated in it's design. If I download a Stadium or logo and make zero changes to those files why on earth must I upload them again under my name? It seems terribly inefficient, uses up resources that could be better used elsewhere and would make the vaults far easier to police.

It’s been going on for years, it’s not going to change. Invest your energy elsewhere, otherwise it’s wasted.

No point getting angry with me. First, I wasn't on the US Supreme Court when they struck down the law Congress passed. Moreover, I am familiar with the vault as there remains in the Logo Vault a lot of ACC and SEC conference logo sets that I created and used for my custom Franchise league where all 30 teams were given custom uniforms and logos for 15 ACC teams (replacing the NL) and 15 SEC teams (replacing the AL).
Ultimately, as a parent you are the first guardian for what your minor children have access to.
I've made my earnest recommendations to SDS, and like most everything I recommend to them, they ignored it. So, the choice you have before you is three options, because SDS is not going to take effective steps to clean up the logo vault: 1. Uninstall the game and refuse to patronize anything SDS creates in the future, 2. Tightly regulate what your own children have access to in the game, with a sharp warning to them that if they access the vault then option one gets invoked. This likely means your children can only play offline games or at least online games with trusted friends and family members, 3. Accept the vulgarity, which I honestly do not expect you to decide on, nor should you.

@Dolenz_PSN I'm not here to argue. I'm directing it at certain people, and they know they have a responsibility to change it. Fix it, remove it altogether (like they had no problem doing with Sounds of the Show and franchise rosters carrying over), but this MUST stop, yesterday.
It won't hurt a single person to remove the logo vault altogether. Duplicates and vulgar [censored] needs to go. No arguing, no discussions necessary. It MUST be done.
-
@PriorFir4383355_XBL I'm not pissed at you, but I'm very disappointed with San Diego Studios. They like to remove the good things and keep flooding in the bad.
Forums are counterproductive nearly 100% of the time, so I'll be taking my business to other groups who will mandate that they change this, or face consequences.

Yes, it WILL hurt totally innocent people, and likely give the social rejects precisely what they want. You have a singular mindset at work here. I will be blunt, your children are your responsibility to raise, not ours as an online community. But, the vastly larger number of honest people who create logos that are ethical do not deserve you being so flippant with tossing away their perfectly reasonable right to enjoy the game they also paid for!
Finally, we don't live in a world where you nor anyone else serves as dictator, telling them that their desires and enjoyment don't even merit a discussion, nor even a blunt argument like you are now getting from me. You've taken your agenda way too far, and you won't receive any support from me. You crossed a line. If you cannot see that, then I truly feel sorry for you.

It would be a lot more productive to sit your kid(s) down and have a discussion with them on why it’s inappropriate and why people do this kind of stuff (largely kids being kids and eternal teenagers).
You can’t shield them from everything. They’re going to see objectively worse when you’re not around (at a friend’s, school).
Legal action won’t be taken seriously (and without merit) and you’re going to negatively affect your mental health trying to make them change it. And they won’t, as it’s not a priority and probably never will be unless they remove all user customization.

I think the OP is right. I reported dozens of this logo and I get the impression, that nothing is done (I could be wrong tho). There should be action against the creator and everybody who uses it. The Code-of-conduct allows you do act this way.
On the other hand: It is the responsibility of parents to educate proper behaviour, that is right too. But there could be actions on both sides (and especially SDS). It is a shame -

It is a shameI think deep down SDS knows that they are fighting a losing battle trying to police the vaults. Their flakey system that requires every user to upload their logo regardless of how many duplicates are already in there just allows things to cascade out of control.
