AL NL Collection Rewards

I think it is a given that the AL/NL collection rewards will revert back to being 99 overall. The only reason why they scaled them back last year was to keep the balance since they were Core cards that were unaffected by the "Sets & Seasons" model.
The bigger question in my opinion, do you think we see the return of divisional rewards? Those were gutted entirely in 24.
I would have to think those are coming back, and I'd have to imagine the mid-completion rewards are coming back too.
-
@SakAttack87_PSN I really hope so. Not sure why that happened in the first place.

2 things happened.
Sets.
Seasons. -
I just hope it’s not Rocket or Manny or else I will own the most expensive pretend video game characters of my lifetime. Going to be hard explaining that charge to the wife
-
@SaveFarris_PSN We had sets and seasons in 23 with division awards. It was only last year it was taken away.
-
The main collection last year was pretty disappointing. Pedro was alright and Palmeiro being a new face was cool, but it really hurt that they were only 95 overalls so neither had much staying power.
And while it was awesome to finally get a two-way Babe Ruth who was literally maxed out on offense, he was not nearly as dominant on the pitching side. Also, he has been in the game since 2018 and I really think most people prefer a new Legend for the big LS collection. Just one year prior, we got three brand-new stars and HUGE ones in Sosa/McGwire/Jeter so to go from that to what we got in 24 was a letdown.
-
@SakAttack87_PSN Palmiero and Pedro 95’s was a massive disappointment. I was down with 2 way Ruth though. He was still one of the best early pitchers.
-
Manny and Clemens will probably be the AL NL rewards. I’d like to see a big legend we don’t know about as MLB collection like Ted Williams.

i doubt either of them will be an NL reward. My guess would be Clemens as the AL reward, Manny as the collection reward. Maybe they'll give us a 99 Piazza for the NL reward. They showed Manny in a Boston uniform, Clemens in NY...dont think anyone really wants Manny as a Dodger or Clemens as an Astro. Also, it would be weird getting an Astro as the NL reward considering they're an AL team now.
-
All good points. Piazza makes sense since he didn’t get a 99 last year.
-
I don't see either Clemens or Manny being the LS reward as I think that will be whoever they reveal during the official Legends trailer. That could be wishful thinking, but I just don't believe they would have dropped those two names so early if there wasn't a bigger surprise in store.
The LS reward has usually been an offensive player - Randy Johnson in 22 being the outlier - so not sure if it will be Clemens and as awesome as Manny will be with the bat his defense could be an issue. Even if they juice those attributes, he will be a liability in the field because of his limited speed so not sure if they go that route for LS collection.
My prediction is still the following:
AL: Clemens (BOS)
NL: Manny (LAD)
MLB: Bonds (SF) or A-Rod (SEA) -
@SakAttack87_PSN Yeah, Manny and Clemens aren’t big enough to be the full collection reward IMO. I still don’t think we’ll see Bonds.

Clemens would be the perfect AL East reward IMHO...he played for three of the five teams in that division, he also won 6 of his 7 Cy Young's in that division too. Him or a juiced 2010 Jose Bautista (although I don't think he allows his likeness anymore)

That's definitely a good point.
With Manny, I can see a 96 overall possibly being the Dodgers LS reward considering how [censored] expensive that collection is going to be.
-
They way that the bring back 21-like-content (it looks like we have inning-programs) I totally expect the Collections like 21. That means 3x99 for the Big Rewards.
And (not only to annoy people here
) it would be absolutely brilliant to have Bonds as the main live series collection
-
@SakAttack87_PSN Or NL West reward if they actually do division awards this year.
-
I wouldnt mind Bonds being in the game. The only issue id have with it is the forums because a lot of people would be insufferable with those "I told you so" posts like they willed it into reality or something.
-
@Easy_Duhz_It__PSN or … to make it worse like „How could this happen? I want my money back, if Bonds is in the game“ … People are crazy
-
@GoozeFn_PSN
Good news, those mid collection rewards should remain in the past... We are going back to the days of playing ranked vs someone who dropped $2-3K during the first week in order to field a team of 99's! -
@xElRojo44x_MLBTS I usually have the collection within a couple weeks NMS and just wait until then to play online.
