Am I the only one who loves this year’s game?
-
@YOSHI24_XBL the problem is they use to make the content too challenging and those of us that cant live the game were mired down in content we would never finish
-
@AdeptOfMemory_PSN Especially after last year when we had 99s pretty much right off the bat. Tough to wind back from 99's at launch to 99's every two months for two weeks if you play everyday
-
Bring back the inning format, and the rookies into diamonds by having player programs. Was so much fun.
-
I like the game in p much every mode other than DD. Even HR derby is more fun than DD & that mode is full of bugs online
-
I like it , I wouldn't say I love it . But I feel like I would be happy with any format . But maybe not. Maybe next year I'll be ranting every other day . ️

@Teak2112_MLBTS I disagree with your content part on 23 … Because… Let me first state my vision for „good content“.
Content should challenge our time AND make fun AND give people cards to improve their team (or at least challenge them to do so). Rn S2 does not do that at all
MLBTS23 challenged our time, it was kinda funny BUT it seldom gave out cards to improve our team. And this forum (although most suffer from recency bias) was outrageous with this exact part.
Look back at MLBTS21 and the stuff there was (as I mentioned above). More times than not I had trouble to decide what to do first … Am I playing ranked? Events? BR? Every mode had something very good to play for. Or do programs and earn that Scherzer, Miggy. I wanted to keep up with daily programs to earn the reward … Hell that was good, 23 was notI think card quality and content are too different things, and MLB the Show 24 fails at both.
There are less things to do for earning cards (content), and those cards you can earn are lackluster (card quality)

But you are not saying that „too much content is also not good“, are you? If yes, then I am out, because you can never find the balance for everybody

That's a terrible take. But sounds like another SDS over correction.

I wouldn't say it's a terrible take...I'm actually inclined to believe it. That being said, I also agree with you about it being an overcorrection from SDS. You're both right

Yeah, I guess it's not a terrible take by the poster, but terrible take from SDS for that to be their solution.

You and the other guy who is beyond hype about the asg series program and just posted about it should just play together and write about it because you two are the only ones who seem to like this game somehow
-
@nflman2033_MLBTS Totally agree. But I totally believe that if you put up a smart survey, the main problem points would be
- Not enough content
- Too much content
- Content too easy
- Content too hard
- Too much grinding
- Not enough to do

I don't think I've ever seen Too Much Content EVER mentioned about TS24. Nor have I seen too hard. But I can say I've seen all of the other ones.

I think all of that is wrapped up inside of the "too much grinding" statement.
Either way the sentiment is, SDS is continuing to make the mistake of trying to make everyone happy.

Uuuuuhhhhh how?? Who have they tried to make happy?

People who complained about too much grinding, by now have far less programs with minimal amount of effort. Didn't say they did a good job. But that's clearly what I see.

SDS's biggest blunder this year? For me, DD is boring (the worst adjective you can use for a video game). I like the gameplay this year, probably as much as any year since I started DD in 2020. But I'm bored out of my skull. There are multiple days when I don't play, which has never happened for me this early in the cycle.

Me: "Gee, doc, I've been having some pain in my left foot."
Doc: "Well we can't have that now can we!??" proceeds to saw foot off -

Another example.
MLB the show 20: "there are too many check swings!"
SDS: ok, now it's nearly impossible to check swing.
-
@nflman2033_MLBTS The ONLY issue I've ever had with check swings is the pressure and timing of them. I don't mind them. I don't understand the arguments cause I don't feel gameplay quality damaged by it in my games.
It's kind of 50/50 chance the batter loses the check to the ump so it can't really be abused at least in my games. In fact I like it many times as a pitcher cause you get to sword people and it feels quite good to juke a batter in a non pitching meta.Sorry, I've digressed.
