What to expect in season 2?
-
@BJDUBBYAH We'll get called Simps, because while others can voice their negative feedback, if we offer rationale feedback were simps, and we shoulf hate the game even tho we enjoy baseball.
-
I'm convinced Chucky and BJ are the same person.

@SalmanHOF probably only keep 1 card at 1st. It's up to 4 wild cards. This game sucks and they ruined it last year. Best bet, sit tight, and see what happens when the seasons flip. No reason to grind or play now as all season 2 cards are useless and SDS will just release another lazy card for the same player.

@AdeptOfMemory
They are both on my blocked list and 2 of the most painfully annoying for sure.
-
@AdeptOfMemory were just two minnesotan's we are MN passive aggressive, ever heard of MN nice??
-
@TripleH-4481 I don't block people on anything unless they are truly harassing me or doxing but I have thought about it with the SDSimps for sure
-
Is it really so hard to stay on topic and not use every thread to cry? Just asking …

First year player here.
So I understand I’ll only be able to keep four cards in 24 days, but what happens to the rest of my collection?
Also, do I want to save stubs for the start of season 2? Will it be a complete restart (with 4 carryover cards)?To the second last question (I think that did not get an answer): it depends how far you are with collections. They will gain in value, so maybe you should/could think ahead and get some better Core cards. I do not think, that there will be lots of packs besides TA2-1 starting S2 and an additional program. Remember: It is a power creep, nobody will have an all-99-team from the get-go

So, there’s really no reason not to sell or exchange all of my dupes?
I’m hanging on to a bunch of gold and diamond S1 dupes, to see what happens on the market. If they don’t go up in value, they’ll have the same quick sell any way.
But that’s just me.

@AdeptOfMemory
Highly recommend doing so for your own mental health.

I'd recommend not spending over 200 hours playing a video game you despise, but what do I know? I'm just a simp

In past versions of the game, you have a roster full of 99s by mid-summer and there is little to aim for at that point - many people get bored and move on. Now SDS is trying to shake things up by having a restart - lets see how it goes before making a judgement.
I hope SDS is creative rather than copying the format of S1. For example, something other TA. Maybe introduce a new mode - 5 inning RS games or create a offline option for Events against random player teams who play events online (using the same rating matching system).

I'll never understand the compulsion to come here, rant/hate/rage/swear off the game; yet, they stay here. And play. I quit Madden over a decade ago; you won't see me there.
@chucky97____PSN And yeah, I guess being rational equals simping nowadays. You can't be level-headed, you have to vote blue or red and not move an iota in either direction. Children with pubic hair these guys.

@Firefly4917
Actually, one of the few complaints about "Innings" that I remember, was that you did not have many of the best 99's available until late summer/fall. Most of those complaints came from those who were bolting to Madden anyway, and wanted the best cards before August. -
@Firefly4917 If you are speaking about 23, you are right. You did not have an all-99-squad in summer for 21/22. The first ones came out in summer, but not an all-99-squad. Go search youtube with „MLB the Show 22 Griffey“. You will find some content creater videos of the first Griffey (the one with the [censored] storm ) … and look at their squads

@YOSHI24
He said past "versions" (plural)... So it appears that he was not referring to the previous '23 version, but rather the previous versions of the game which used the Innings format. -
@xElRojo44x Exactly; 19 & 20 were great for that; 21 still had innings but if you didn't play some RS/BR/Events before the next one to bank some stars, you couldn't get to 300 playing exclusively offline. Then 22 was the start of the hardcore timed programs; you either FOMO or you're screwed out of cards. 23 was a disaster that I gladly skipped. This year ain't perfect, but at least the "seasons" last 12 weeks and there should be only 3 IIRC from the launch stream.

I was pointing out, that maybe he is no right (or at least „only half right“ ) … I cannot speak about pre-21 though

@yankblan
Yep, '19-21 were excellent versions for "content"... ('20 was my fav)... And everything from '15-22 (save for '18) was enjoyable content, to me. ...But I do agree that this year's content format is better than last year's. -
