@SaveFarris I would wager the cards from the packs can be collected for program progress, much like Season Awards. And that’s why I’ve been buying the lower price cards

@blitz77tw, there is no in game economy to even remotely dignify the price of the packs. You could grind and play for a week maybe earn 40k stubs just to pull a card that is worth 10k or less. Either that or buy a 44.99$ USD stub bundle for one pack @40k and no guarantee. There is absolutely nothing resembling a reciprocal relationship here, stub gains are stifled this year, xp cap is invasive. Also there has rarely been a pack to be earned in these stripped down programs we get. They’ve gone so blatantly anti consumer this year and know they have or they would address the community in some fashion, they bailed on the TA: S2 content stream. Hopefully they make some kind of turn around but it feels like they are committed to “weak” content and more packs.

SDS puts these packs out, and people buy them, they wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t working. Your anger comes across as jealousy of people who can afford to buy them. I have given them some flowers or at least a little rope ( patience ) at times this year but so far they keep hanging themselves with the rope. If the TRUTH hurts your feelings then fine cause I tell what "I Believe" is the truth from my POV and this will sound arrogant but I believe IT IS the truth NO MATTER what some fanboys want to think.
The reason I keep playing is I hope they will get the message and fix it also I do it so I do not fall behind and let me tell you that is a grind in itself cause I try and hit the XP cap every day. I want to believe that SDS will revert and not to sound corny but turn from the "darkside" and give us what they have in the past.

2024 Total Cards Released: 4292023 Programs: 6 (for 83 cards) April Topps Now, Charisma, Mexico City, Starter, Great Egg Hunt, WBC
2024 Programs: 5 (for 35 cards, assuming you lump all the Season Awards into one): Season Awards, Starter, Great Egg Hunt, Jackie Day, Spring Breakout2023 For-Sale Packs: 7 (for 58 cards) + 24 Diamond Duos (12 packs w/ 2 cards each)
2024 For-Sale Packs: 11 (for 83 cards) + 12 Headliners (1 card each)So even though there has been some movement of cards from Programs to Packs, it's not as bad as some make it out to be. And that's ignoring as the season progresses, these packs are eventually going to be given away in programs, maps & miniseasons (as we started to see during the TA 1.2 Drop).

How can you say 35 and 83 are even remotely close? That is less than half the cards available from programs at this time compared to last year
I love your optimism that these packs are going to be in upcoming programs and maps. I really hope you are right, but how many of these special packs were in the latest conquest map?

Yeah, pretty significant difference that can be directly related to the packs. Last years packs were additional packs, mostly unrelated to the actual programs. This year there seems to be a pack for every program, taking cards we normally would have earned in the program and adding them to packs.
We've been able to earn 20 cards from season awards drops (not counting Witt) and there are also 20 cards in season award packs, which cuts our potential earnable cards in half. And this seems to be their plan for every program this season.
Then we have had 2 pipeline packs but no corresponding program.

Offline rewards this year have been nothing short of pathetic. SDS is pretty much saying if you want cards either play online or buy stubs. That much has been crystal clear up to this point.

Your right I do use fan boy too much and looking back at the post you cited was not needed. I just got done writing the post above it and was still in that head space.

Thank you for making the point ( and the Data ) a good portion of the people who are not happy with the CONTENT of the game that we have seen to this point. Since I am mainly an offline player the game play is fine sure some tweaks might be nice but rock solid for me at least.
I might not agree with your post but I appreciate the effort it took and unlike some debated me with data and not just sticking up for SDS blindly so again thanks.

Yes, that is exactly how I see it. Since I typically hate people and refuse to pay for PS plus, I am SOL. That's fine, I love the game and will play it. Just not sure I will be playing DD much longer if things don't change.

Guys … if you compare players just by their „points“, you do not get everything. Plus, value is not defined by math … A card is not better because of some addition.
Look at Castro … some top guys play them. We had a tournament, where the winner (Adam) played him in LF. Some other top guys play him.
But: That does not make him better than Niko. Niko is imo (<— and that is important) the better card. Is he worth 100+K stubs? I am not sure … I would not spend that much stubs and put in Castro without hesitation. I do not think that the plus in stubs is not worth the „added value“.
But again, that is my opinion and everybody can have their own.Conclusion: The good thing is, the we have a debate over this and that is the great thing about the current creep. No card (at least for me) is a must-buy to compete (important: We are not talking about legend difficulty

@YOSHI24 thank you for laying out the ultimate point about these cards, they just aren’t “must haves” and that’s why I don’t personally care about these packs. I’ve just been buying the low tiers for collections and in case there is a collection for the program progress.
