Feedback - Captain Card Exchange

Dear SDS Developers,
I hope this message finds you well. I've been thoroughly enjoying MLB The Show, and I wanted to take a moment to provide some feedback regarding the captain cards system.
Firstly, I'd like to commend the team for implementing the exchange feature for cornerstone captains. It's an excellent addition to the game, offering players a way to continually engage with and improve their teams. However, I believe there's an opportunity to expand on this concept with a similar exchange system for all captains.
Here are a few reasons why I think a captain card exchange would greatly enhance the gameplay experience:
Equity with Cornerstone Captains: The current system offers an infinite exchange for cornerstone captains, which is both practical and enjoyable. Extending this feature to all captains would create parity and consistency within the game mechanics.
Limited Availability of Captains: With captains representing every team, it's unfortunate that players can only obtain two (4 total) at the moment. Given the variety of captains available, it would be highly beneficial to have the option to acquire and experiment with different captains to tailor our teams to our preferences and playstyles.
Enhanced Gameplay Diversity: Introducing a captain card exchange would inject a new level of excitement and strategy into the game. Being able to try out different captains would not only keep the gameplay fresh but also encourage players to explore different team compositions and tactics.
Potential Implementation of Cost System: To balance the exchange feature and maintain the game's economy, implementing a cost system for exchanging captains could be beneficial. This could involve earning a currency through gameplay activities or spending in-game resources to facilitate the exchange process, adding an extra layer of decision-making and resource management for players.
In summary, a captain card exchange system would contribute significantly to the overall enjoyment and longevity of MLB The Show. It aligns with the existing cornerstone captain exchange mechanic while offering players more flexibility, diversity, and strategic depth in team-building.

Good points, well written.I wonder if we will be able to get more of these Hitter and/or Pitcher Captains later? I am almost at my last Pitcher Captain choice pack, and do not want to pick one that I may regret later (i.e. other cards being released that would have boosted another Captain card that I did not choose).

Are trying to exchange the Conerstone Caps or the Team Based Caps? Because I do not think you are able to exchange the latter. -

agree on this 100% I picked a RP early on to improve my bullpen. I'd love to try out a Mariners theme team, but am stuck with 2 random captains i picked early on to improve my DD team.

Ive had buxton all year not that i eant to change but for some reason it wont light up on thr exchange screen it acts like i have none of them

@b00std_mark_II I read somewhere that you have to remove the card from any lineup that it’s in. Then it will light up. You can then do the exchange. I did it last night.

Thank you. I picked Maddux because I incorrectly thought I'd have a chance to earn all of them at some point and wanted to use him, but he is like the worst captain and I had not been able to figure out how to get the exchange to work.

@LIONED-33 did you lock yours in for collections? Also do you have yours in a lineup right now?

The fact that there is no way to use all of the captain cards is a massive L. Exchange, hell even packs to be able to get all the captains would be fine.

@MRAD2010 if you want to exchange cornerstone captain, just make sure that card is not in any lineup anywhere. Doesn’t matter if you collected him or not you can still exchange the cornerstone. Wish you could exchange every captain.
