Prediction

I am predicting an even more God-like Derek Jeter in season 6. They paid him too much not to get more out of him. To quote famous entrepreneur Stan Lee, "Nuff said"
-
The announcement of his number retirement was on 12/6/16. Maybe then?
-
His core card is the unrealistically good card.
-
@fubar2k7 Way better than it should be. Probably the most unrealistic card in the game when compared to their real life counterpart.

Super exaggeration here. Milestone Elly is the most unrealistic card in the game dude plays like 5 games and they give him one of the best cards of all time on this game. Dude has a 37% strike out rate yet he has 125 contact and nobody bats an eye ; but give a hall of famer with 3000 hits and a fistful of World Series rings 90 power and everyone is questioning it like it’s a live series card
-
Thank you. I'm far from a Yankee fan, but the man was the leader of the the greatest franchise in baseball for over a decade. He deserves the awards and respect given to him.
I may be an underdog fan, but I still have respect for the history earned. Heck, Joe Torre gets 99 cards all the time and he was well above average, with some very good years, as a player. We wouldn't even remember him, right now, if he didn't coach the Yankees during that time span though. Deserving of the card? Yes. Well enough known as a player? No.

Derek Jeter had a career DRS of -162. I’ll leave it at that.
-
@broken_toy1 If jeter played for any other franchise he'd be craig biggio minus the defense.

Ah yes career DRS, the ultimate stat for judging a players ability from an era where DRS wasn’t even tracked or used

Yeah I actually hate the Yankees from Jeter’s era they swept my Padres in 1998. Is Jeter overrated? Yes probably but to say his 99 is the most unrealistic in the game is ridiculously ignorant when current players get all time great 99s for getting 4 hits in a single game. We have 99 Josh Bell, 99Tim Anderson, 27 varieties of 99 Kyle Schwarber and Derek Jeter is the one people think is the most juiced? It’s laughable really

So Babe Ruth isn’t career WAR leader. Good to know. How many times did your mom drop you as a baby?

Going to the middle school insult book now? Ouch that really hurts my feelings

@chucky97___
Maybe. I think Biggio is deserving of his 99 cards too. Once again, Jeter was the leader of the greatest franchise at, arguably, the second most triumphant part of their history. It wasn't murderers row, but still a darn fine dynasty. The guy is rightfully in monument park.
I hate that people use today's metrics to judge past players. They coach to those metrics now. That makes players like Correa think he's better than their betters. Those 5 GG awards says something. I am a Yankee hater.
Love the discourse, thank you.

Heck I’ve got a strikeout rate of 23.4 per nine innings with Shlomo Lipetz lol

Woah , that escalated quickly
