Retro finest question
-
Are these cards strictly legends?
-
Don't know yet. One could assume.
-
Not necessarily. We just got a Retro Finest Cronenworth last week.
-
I am praying to the gods that we get a Retro Finest Willie Mays card that does him justice after his bad card last year and so far this year. He should be like a Mike Trout card, but better.
-
They are “same cards every year “ “games been dead for months”, “we already have a 92 overall from set 1” type guys
-
I certainly hope so. There are an awful lot of Legends in the game without a season 5 eligible 99 overall card, and in some cases some that have not gotten a 99 yet.
-
Retro Finest LEGENDS like ...
Yasmani Grandal
Robbie Ray
Brandon Belt
Jameson Taillon
Mike Zunino! -
I guess the official definition of legend for this game is no longer valid. It was already pretty loosely used- I would hardly consider guys like Jason Bay and Tony Clark legends.
But now does it just mean, someone that use to play for that team? Where are:
Willie Mays
Lou Gehrig
Joe Morgan
Al Kaline
Cy Young
Jackie Robinson as a dodger
EtcLook, I like the content. 60 99s and many of them look great:
Rollins, Brett, Holliday, Peavy, Oswalt, Grandal, Thome, Molitor there are some good ones. -

@BiigD008
They did, but with this reveal, it seems they are no longer classifying it as such.
Ray, Grandal, Taillon, Zunino, Belt, Conforto and Calhoun are all still playing.
Really they just need to adjust the wording of their tweet as these are legends and flashbacks but it seems there really is no method anymore.

Mike Zunino!I missed that the first time, so not Willie Mays? The Finest for the Giants is Brandon Belt? Really SDS?
-
Willie Mays better be one of the collection rewards where he is almost max stats across the board

Mike Zunino!Calhoun with a 99 retro Finest? Lololol
-
I think if you get a retro finest card you should at least been to an all-star game or anything. I guess at least Calhoun did win a gold glove that year.
Also I everyone is going to use Aparicio card on their god squad.
There's some potentially really great cards here though unless SDS nerfs them like crazy like George Brett, Eddie Murray, Napoli, Billy Williams, Grandal, and Jimmy Rollins. Don't think any of the pitchers will be that great unless they give Oswalt or Burnett good H/9. Peavy might be sneaky also.

The ghosts of baseball past

@SaveFarris Adam Dunn for the Nats? Are you kidding me? Wow, thanks sds. What a joke! What has happened to this game?

I see your frustration on the Adam Dunn front. However, the Incognito Dunn card from Set 2 is oddly one of my favorite cards this year. Looking forward to the 99.
-
@savefarris_MLBTS I don't have access to MLB 21, but is the Brett card the same one from the Collection that year?
-
If you mean '22, that collection retro finest was from his best season 1980, this one is 1985. Both great but '80 was one of the best seasons anyone ever had.
