Retro finest question

@BiigD008
They did, but with this reveal, it seems they are no longer classifying it as such.
Ray, Grandal, Taillon, Zunino, Belt, Conforto and Calhoun are all still playing.
Really they just need to adjust the wording of their tweet as these are legends and flashbacks but it seems there really is no method anymore.

Retro Finest LEGENDS like ...
Yasmani Grandal
Robbie Ray
Brandon Belt
Jameson Taillon
Mike Zunino!I missed that the first time, so not Willie Mays? The Finest for the Giants is Brandon Belt? Really SDS?
-
Willie Mays better be one of the collection rewards where he is almost max stats across the board

I think if you get a retro finest card you should at least been to an all-star game or anything. I guess at least Calhoun did win a gold glove that year.
Also I everyone is going to use Aparicio card on their god squad.
There's some potentially really great cards here though unless SDS nerfs them like crazy like George Brett, Eddie Murray, Napoli, Billy Williams, Grandal, and Jimmy Rollins. Don't think any of the pitchers will be that great unless they give Oswalt or Burnett good H/9. Peavy might be sneaky also.

@SaveFarris Adam Dunn for the Nats? Are you kidding me? Wow, thanks sds. What a joke! What has happened to this game?

I see your frustration on the Adam Dunn front. However, the Incognito Dunn card from Set 2 is oddly one of my favorite cards this year. Looking forward to the 99.

@savefarris_MLBTS I don't have access to MLB 21, but is the Brett card the same one from the Collection that year?
-
If you mean '22, that collection retro finest was from his best season 1980, this one is 1985. Both great but '80 was one of the best seasons anyone ever had.

This game...
Come on the forums every now and then just to see what's up, but haven't touched DD in like 2 months or more. Horrible year, despicable grinds, and more pay-to-win than it's ever been. TA grind and programs overflowing with cards with low ratings after raining 99's on opening day -- killed the game for me.
Terrible year. Just terrible.

I feel the need to repeat myself and point out none are as bad as Yasmani Grandal. I don’t know anyone in my teams fandom that considers him a legend of our team.
-
@fubar2k7
Agreed, but also- it seems they have abandoned their own definition of legends. Their tweet says 30 legends. Grandal, Ray, Conforto, Zunino, Taillon, Calhoun and Belt would be flashbacks right?
This is a question in general, I know you’re not arguing that these are legends haha. I hope we get a Dodger Jackie as a boss or collection. He’s always one of my favorite cards. I’m sure the Negro League card is great but it doesn’t give any credit for TA so I won’t use those. They kinda dropped the ball there.
-
I agree with the legend terminology but are we really complaining about a Grandall maxed card? Dude will be in plenty of lineups. His cards always mash.
Let’s also he realistic here, they release a 98 OVR Aldaberto Mondesi Retro Finest everyone flips out. Change it to a 98 Topps Now or Monthly Award and everyone claims it’s the greatest card to ever be in the game.
If the card plays well it plays well. Don’t overthink the label of said card.
I’m also not saying Mays and others shouldn’t have been the choice, that’s obvious.
-
@saintleo14
Dude will be in plenty of lineups. His cards always mash.Not with a 0-10 Speed attribute he won't.
...But I agree that Mondesi's cards are in demand because of his glitchy swing, not necessarily his card rating.

Hadn’t heard that name in a minute….that man possessed a Howitzer for an arm

I haven't been keeping up with this nonsense lately but I'm gathering that Elly de la Cruz and Mike Trout both have new 99 cards. If I were one of the one's who spent a fortune on either of their Chase Pack cards or both, I would be fuming right now. Can't say that wasn't any type of stub grab now.

From the looks of Trout; his Milestone is better.
Not sure about Elly.
