If I had a crystal ball…

I’m gonna have to disagree with you. It’ll stay and have adjustments to it like maybe a pitcher and batter wild card versus 1 wild card but it won’t completely go away. And shorter seasons. Those seem to be the biggest complaints because all I have to do it pitch that 97 Gibson a few times and he’s now a 99.

If the changes this year stimulated more engagement with the game, they'll repeat the process.
If the changes led to a dropoff of engagement, they'll change it.Only way to know is to measure the behind-the-scenes metrics, which we don't have but they do.

I don’t know. You all might be right. But man, it’s seems to be a pretty large part of the customer base that have expressed their willingness to bolt rather than go through expiring cards again.
They could just be blowing hot air, and I’m sure some of them are. But as one of you said, I suppose the number of stubs sold will have a tremendous impact on the final decision. We aren’t in the board room, so we can only speculate how this system has effected stub sales.
It just seems like a revolt is on deck if they keep it. Personally, it won’t be the deciding factor for me. I don’t like expiring cards, but I’m not up in arms about it. It will be interesting to see, though.

You have to keep in mind a small fraction of the people who play the game are using this forum. You don’t see a million unique users floating around here do you? Assuming games sold and GamePass players equal a million.

If they made more money from people purchasing stubs to get the pack hidden 99s it won’t change. In fact it will get worse

I would think SDS gets rid of Sets/expiring cards next year. The complaints about that have been relentless.
The complaints are always relentless about some aspect of the game every year.
That said, I do agree that they did a very poor jobs of spacing things out.
Here are the expired 99 overall cards for the Cardinals.
Lars Nootbaar (Set 2)
Bob Gibson (Set 1)
Adam Wainwright (Set 1)
Stan Musial (Set 2)
Ozzie Smith (Set 1)
Jim Edmonds (Set 1)
Jordan Walker (Set 1)What am I looking forward to if that is the only 99 these guys get? Since that time we have gotten lesser versions of Ozzie, Edmonds, Gibson, and Walker.
I'm sorry if the prospect of being able to use these cards again in January does not motivate me to keep playing.

Use them in a classic mini season.

I think if they flip flopped set one and four it would have been fine

Admittedly, I haven’t kept up with the SDS streams since ‘21, but I recall them being on there justifying the changes they were making and citing numerous complaints from the forums. So although it may be a small fraction of users, the forum represents a wider group of similar sentiment.
