McGwire

I haven’t heard one person say they play well with any of his cards. Is anyone out there that likes McGwire?
I haven’t used the collection McGwire; only the two lesser cards. But even the 92 Captain version has been extremely underwhelming, even vs the CPU on Rookie and Veteran difficulty.
If there is anyone out there having success with McGwire, are you power swinging exclusively or….what’s your secret?

I just got his captain card and added him as DH on my Cardinals team. Don't have a lot of at bats with him yet but his contact is pretty low. 79 and 63 respectively. His vision is also pretty low at 57. I would not power swing as it should not be needed with his power and it just further shrinks the PCI.
I don't expect to do well with him. I always am bad with low vision guys anyway, regardless of their contact so with low vision and fairly low contact I expect he will not do well for me, but that eventual +15 power Vs L and R is a nice bonus for my other Cardinal players

He does well for me against lefties. I platoon him and devers/babe at first. BR is does well too. I don’t think HOF and above are viable for him.

It sucks because, live series collection rewards should be the best cards in the game. So all 3 of these cards should be at the tier level of the set collection cards. 2 out of the 3 are great cards. However, The AL Collection Big Mac Card is buns. Pretty much unusable in competitive online play. The live series is so expensive and unless you’re a streamer or want to spend hundreds of dollars on the game, it’ll take some time and stub hoarding to complete it.

played the NL central strongholds on the season 2 CQ map.( veteran).
don't know if I'm compatible with his swing or just beginners luck, 11 ABs is not enough to tell. -
If you use the 92 McGwire with the Jeter Captain boost, his number are almost the same as his 99 collection card. His swing is def better. Very small sample size for me though.

How can you platoon? Is there a way to set lineup for lefty vs eighty that I didn't know was there?

It’s more so because I rake with the 97 devers, but devers is not good against lefties

I really am not impressed with him as most of my hits with him online have come on a bs create a stadium game. Offline he is fine for me probably better than "fine" just not nearly collection stubs worthy

I’m laughing at it now. I’m at 40 ABs on rookie and veteran with just 1 homerun. Meanwhile I’m hitting homers all day with guys with significantly less power. I want to see how long it’s going to take to hit three homeruns with this awful card. I’m going to set the o/u at 100 ABs
