This years game is absolute garbage. The gamplay is fun, and I love baseball, but this feels like a money grab.
Not true. Sammy is ok, Mark sucks, and Jeter is ok. U have to grind for the best cards in the game, which are Chipper and Ruth. Best pitchers are Pedro, Sasaki, Bob Gibson, Feller, and Ohtani.
I'll give u the ptw to get most of the better pitchers, but the best hitters u have to grind for.

This game isn’t pay to win. You can grind literally every card in the game if you are 1)good or 2)have loads of free time.
So, if you want all the cards, increase 1 or 2.

I said it before and I will say it again. I personally don't believe the game is pay to win but I feel SDS/Sony has leaned heavily into an aggressive monetization plan where players are paying end-game prices for cards that have expiration dates and will need to be replaced again in a few months. Seems like a cycle of overly expensive end game cards that the average player will not be keep up with.
Do we 100% KNOW that Set 1 won't be put back into the useable column for Season 4,5,6,Forever?
All we know is that they (wildcard notwithstanding) won't be eligible for Ranked during Season 3.
We don't know anything for sure yet, but I am not holding my breath that the cards will be useable in seasons 4-6.
At best they will be re-added at the very end of the year when many have already moved on from the game.

Both games, a superior player with a lesser team will beat an inferior player with a much better team but a 99 vs 95 isn't that big of a differential. You get a 90 over team, still winning? I say no. Only a few guys can do that and they are usually comp guys.
If you think there is no stick skills in Madden... you don't play Madden. I use the Dolphins 81 ovr. when I play regs and mostly matchup against teams like the Chiefs, Bills, and Eagles which are all 90+ and still have a winning record every year completely outmatched in team overall. As far as MUT... it's the same thing, an inexperienced player with a 99 ovr. team is gonna get smoked every time against good players no matter how bad their team is. If our skills are equal... then overall will be an advantage just like this game. It's funny how people are always trashing Madden skills and all that here... but anybody who plays both games regularly will vouch that Madden takes just as much skill as this game team stacked or not. I'm totally willing to play a game against anybody here who thinks there is no skill gap and you can pick my team... I will use the worst team in regs and you can pick one of the God squads and I haven't even turned on Madden since this game came out.

I'm a good MUT player and I can stop any of the cheesy glitchy schemes, but I have been smoked by people with a low overall team that were just better than me. Do you play Madden? I will run a regs game against you and bench any players with abilities, and use zero abilities and you can pick any team you want with any abilities you want, and then come back here and tell me abilities are more important than skill. Unless you are a very good Madden player... I'm 100% confident I will make you rage quit regardless of team overall or abilities. The competitive MUT players will beat average players no matter how bad their team is... skill is much more important than team in Madden, just like this game.

I'm right there with you on this one. Unpopular or not.
I struggle to understand what is actually FUN about a mode that is just 97/99s at every position...on the mound and in the bullpen?
The simple solution is a CAPPED mode. Kind of similar to BR but with cards you own and 9 innings, not 3.
98% of the cards in the mode are useless, unless you're collecting them to complete sets...especially this year with all these 99s everywhere already.
This would actually force people to make choices on how they allocate their resources while building their roster. While also allowing players to build a team that fits their strengths and weaknesses.
You're not a great hitter? Ok...use you cap resources to load up on pitching and defense, maybe some speed to manufacture runs because you don't hit many bombs. Because you're actually now on a somewhat level playing field (because of the CAP), you can actually do this.
Maybe you're just a really good hitter. Ok...find some budget cards like a Live Series Schwarber to keep your cap low, so you can load up at another position with a 99.
There's actual STRATEGY in a mode like that. Unlike whatever you call this current mode...which is basically just acquiring 26 99's to try to keep up with everyone else.
As much strategy as there is in the game of BASEBALL, both on and off the field...we really see NONE of that in this game.

regs is horrible, competitve mut requires a ton of skill, the amount of changes and pre snap audibles and hot routes is crazy, but this years madden, and i play in some CFM leagues, i cant stand it, players are useless without abilities, and mut with madden content this year it is crazy to keep your team up to date, madden is an ability based game, so many pros have even said abilities over stats. I sold my mut team at the end because every game is just gun tight or tight flex, i still watch a little bit of mayz from here or there and I watched dubby give up 80 points in a cfm to a team stacked with abilities and dubby's probably one of the better madden players in the community.

I'd also like to add player differential. Since everyone plays differently simply having a bunch of high 90s cards means nothing. I absolutely cannot hit with Judge, McGuire, Sosa, or Alonso but absolutely rake with the Mullins, Henderson, Pena, Soto, and Altuve....even their lower rated versions. Same goes for pitching.. It's about building a team you perform best with mixed in with skill and hope the random nonsense God's are on your side lol.

Regs is okay... I use it as a break from the repetitive players you see in MUT. Abilities are definitely huge, but also no average player is beating a good player like Dubby because of overall or abilities. My point is only to disagree that Madden/MUT requires no skill.... that's not the case. I play a couple friends online here and there and they are casual players and even using a terrible team against their God squads... If I try, it's a blowout every time. BTW.... I hate abilities in Madden, and I wish they would take them out of the game altogether.

watch dubbys CFM brotha he gave up 80 and lost his mind lol. Abilities is all madden is, they legit have to make every qb a 90 plus and give the qb abilities becaus playing comp madden with a qb without abilities is next to impossible.

Yes, they are giving out good diamonds for free, but the ones you can get for free are 92s and 97s or a flawed 99. If you hope to remain competitive online at the higher ranks their will be a new 99 card you will need for another 80k stubs.
Add to all this that these cards will expire!!! At which point they get to dangle a new season collection and a bunch of new 99s in everyone face.
This years game is absolute garbage. The gamplay is fun, and I love baseball, but this feels like a money grab.
What do you mean expire? If you have them you keep them.

Set one cards usefulness for meaningful content ends on July 7th. No you don't lose the cards but you will not be able to use them in ranked games or any season 3 specific content (Conquests, New Mini Seasons, etc)
And yes, you can use exactly one of the set one players as a wildcard but that is it.
