We’ll probably get around a 90s diamond and then later get the 99. That’s how they did Jackie and Shohei. I’m sure there will be a Jeter right off the bat.

But given that he will be in a Captains Pack as a 88-91 diamond I doubt that he will be in any collections

Different position for sure, but Randy Johnson had an 88 Takashi card available at launch and was still the Live Series Collection so it has been done before.
I can see Jeter being the AL Collection then getting an even better 99 later on in the cycle similar to what they did last year with Roberto Clemente.

Kinsler was kind of meh, but the name value should increase with each passing reveal.
I will guess some combo of Johan Santana/Jonathan Papelbon/Bobby Abreu/Jason Varitek for this week's new Legends.

That would be really cool and I dig your enthusiasm but I don’t see it happening. I definitely think Josh Gibson will be in the game at some point but sadly there are a lot of people who don’t know who Josh Gibson is. Hopefully Storylines will help change that. Now if they had announced him as part of the storylines and could start hyping him now, then I would think it was more of a possibility.
I think Jeter is the likely choice and since I don’t know who the Live Series reward has been in the past (aside from Randy and Chipper) many of my guesses would probably be repeats.
This is the point where I ask our Show-storian to list the Live Series rewards from the past. @SaveFarris_PSN, would you do the honors?
I’m assuming they don’t do active players right?
I hope whoever did the Live Series collection pool last year jumps in this year. I like making incorrect guesses

They've already said that the 8 negro league players in storylines are the ONLY ones we're getting this year. They're not gonna surprise us because someone like Gibson is someone you announce to build hype for the game.
I feel like people banking on Gibson this year are setting themselves up for a massive letdown.

Do you really believe that such a fabled hitter like Josh Gibson would just be a surprise collection? He's gonna get his own storyline and thats not happening this year unless they plan on making him a hidden bonus storyline unlocked after completing the first 8. But again, that would be kinda stupid on their part for not announcing him....and i think SDS is smart enough to know that.
It would have made sense to go with 9 players for storylines but what Ramone said in the video was "THIS (meaning the 8 players that were announced) is the inaugural storylines roster. This year we have 8 players for season 1...next year will be another group of players..."
He didnt say "we have 8 players now but we're gonna add more during the year in a collection" so it sounds to me like these are the 8 players we're getting.
