Albert Pujols hit a pinch hit Grand Slam today for number 690. That gives him 3 HRs in his last 9 at bats.

He has a .258 batting average overall
He is batting .354 against lefties with a 1.054 OPS
Against lefties this season he is homering at a rate of once every 13 at bats.

Now I know it 's a very long shot for him to get to 700 but the question becomes how close will he get?

What's everyone's guess? I hope he makes it and I assume the Cardinals will give him lots of at bats in the final stretch but 10 more is a tall order so I am thinking 695 or 696.

If they play him every day for the remainder, i think he has a shot at 700,he is seeing and driving the ball well.
    My spring projection was 690-695.

It depends a lot on playing time, which really depends on Milwaukee's team performance down the stretch. Either way I think best case scenario is he ties A-Rod at 696. This last week or so has been the best stretch he has had since 2015 so you can't really expect him to keep that pace up

694 if the Cardinals have a close race to the finish, 697 if they lengthen their lead quite a bit from the Brewers.

Yeah, the guys have a good point about Milwaukee. If they keep playing like they are now, and the Cardinals run out in front, he could get close. I want him to pass Arod even though Arod doesn't even count.

I'll guess 697 because Arod is the worst.

I also wouldn't be totally surprised if he came back in the spring to get there and then retired. Probably not, but Clemens retired 3 times, same with Favre. Brady has now retired once and is back.

It would be cool but he recently, just in the last few days, reiterated that it is not his intention.

Honestly, it would be cool to get to 700 but I think it would be best for his legacy to go out this way even if he only gets a few more. He's turned back the clock if only for a moment and fans can see a glimpse of what we saw for 11 years.

I know it's supposed to be his last, but the way he's batting I could see them offering him another year. I'd love to see 700.

Man, he smoked his third hit of the night as well but it was too much of a line drive and hit off the wall.

I hope he makes it to 700. Man deserves it. Every time he hits one it puts a smile on my face.

Can we all agree if he gets to 699, whoever the Cards play, need to sign Brad Lidge? Pujols jacking 700 off a pitch from lidge would bring back such memories

He just hit 693 at Wrigley. That's 8 HR in his last ~50 PA.
