Hitting working as intended = RNG working as intended
-
Ok hear me out. SdS bases hitting working by looking at community stats. However, doesn't the RNG engine dictate outcomes? So basically they can tweak RNG to get the outcomes that lead to balanced stats. I'm not trying to make excuses. I know I suck. However, I'm tired of perfect ground balls for double plays and 108 exit velocity with 30 degree launch being caught before the warning track. On the other hand I can swing early with PCI not close and crush it 450 feet. How is this representing a players skill? I know some youtubes have tried to explain away hitting but I would like SDS to explain outcomes other than just saying it works as intended. Are they trying to get stats that mirror the major leagues? Do they want all these 1-0 games? How does this keep the game fun.

Not crying at all just an observation. You can't honestly say the hitting mechanic this year is great can you?

Play online rated and not dd with all 99s so with my lowly Reds yes hitting is working as intended

My thought is that there is little to no RNG in hitting. It may seem like it because we don't know all of the variables between pitcher attributes, batter attributes, swing type, swing timing, pitch type, pitch timing, rate of spin, stadium factors, etc.
Maybe there are faulty calculations on their part but, as I said, I don't believe RNG plays much, if any, of a factor in it.

Nah [censored] this game.
Just let us play the game. No need to dictate the outcomes. I'd rather lose 75-46 to an opponent on every pitch than this junk

Missing the point. But if youd rather the game force outcomes in the spirit of the game I think that's crazy.

Can't be the NFL bc no one scores 75
Can't be the NBA bc no one scores 46
Can't be soccer or hockey...Gotta be the TNBA, I mean WNBA, right?

If you don’t play DD, why do you respond like you do play it? And if you did play it in years past, you must have hated it enough to play offline only. So yeah, you agree hitting is broken and has been for years.

Interesting take. I would like to think they have programmed every calculation but that would be millions of factors for each pitch. Basically the have to code for each pitch, with pitcher vs hitter stats and the. Pci placement plus timing. That might be a several hundred thousand factors just for one pitcher. And that is just zone hitting. I think they would take the easier way out and use RNG which would also level the playing field to keep lesser players engaged. Again, we are both speculating because SDS has never fully explained the hitting mechanic.

As I mentioned before, but I am not sure if it was here, they have in the last few years spent some time in the pre-release streams explaining the hitting system. I think the first was around the time they introduced the three dots into the PCI and I think the other time may have been before this years launch when they explained swing timing, especially as it relates to inside and outside pitches.
Again, I am not saying hitting is perfect but they have gone into some details.

Sure I will do the search for you
The timing discussion and how it relates to inside and outside pitches starts at around 28 minutes.
I'm not saying that it will satisfy you or anyone else but it is them discussing hitting in a little more detail. Also, I am not looking for the video from a few years back.

Oh games are most definitely determined by RNG. A lot of really good players lose to lesser opponents because of that trash. You can literally feel the game switch momentum. I would rather get my [censored] beat 20 to 0 by a better player than to lose to someone who can’t even hit .200 but for some reason starts blasting homers like World Series players. Let us win and lose by our own hands not the [censored] A.I
