MLB The Show 22 Game Update 7
PS4: 1.07
PS5: 1.007
Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S: 1.0.0.71
Nintendo Switch: 1.07

Scheduled to deploy: June 2nd / 4 AM PT

GENERAL GAMEPLAY:

  • Long sliding dives have been replaced with animations that are a more realistic representation of how MLB players dive in the infield.

STADIUM CREATOR:

  • Fixed a bug that would cause a custom stadium to delete if the save file was too big.
  • Fixed an issue that would cause a soft lock when selecting an uploaded stadium from the vault.
  • Various stability improvements.

NINTENDO SWITCH:

  • Fixed a soft lock that could occur when the on-screen keyboard was open.

FRANCHISE:

  • Fixed an issue with roster turnover in Spring Training after an injury.
  • Added the ability to view the transaction log during the playoffs.

CO-OP:

  • Fixed an issue that could prevent users from entering the lineup screen.

HOME RUN DERBY:

  • Fixed a bug that would occasionally cause the remaining time to disappear.

UI:

  • Added a new “Featured Rewards” area to the Conquest menu tile.
  • Added a new Supercharged Players screen that lists all the current Supercharged players and a direct link to the Marketplace for each. You can find the new screen inside Diamond Dynasty under the “Player Updates” menu tile.

MISCELLANEOUS

  • Fixed an issue that would occasionally prevent a user from entering the logo vault from the Franchise Custom Team menu.
  • Fixed a bug in Exhibition Live Rosters which would prevent pitcher stats from displaying in the bullpen menu.
  • Fixed a bug that would prevent users from scrolling up the Friends List when entering the Homerun Derby lobby screen.

.........................
My observations

  • New camera shots have appeared in 9-inning CPU games. I just got a base hit and the camera switched to show the hitter pumping his fist on first base. Pretty cool!
  • The update also resets the jukebox for some reason. So if you had all those songs turned off, the update will turn them back on. This didn’t happen in any previous updates.

I STILL want:

  • The ability to use my DD team in custom practice.
  • Universal DH (I know it’s not happening this year but I still want it)
SDS

Cool. Although I will say that in my opinion, the transaction log is the most annoying and useless thing in the entire game, so of course they work on that. I hate having to click through all that stuff just to get rid of those notifications

SDS

Wonder if they fixed the Xbox crashing and the audio bug that announces your pinch hitter twice that happened after patch 1

SDS

No more slip n sliiiiiiide! Good bye forever.

We'll see. I just hope they didn't break the game again like they did last time when they updated it

Unfortunately not. My game just crashed as I loaded into a 9-inning game against the CPU lol

That's true, I think gameplay updates come slow for this exact reason. They have a lot more to fix. Hopefully hitting is next!

Yep more of the same. I’ve accepted it at this point as part of being a turncoat from PS to Xbox lol. To be honest the only reason I got a PS4 in the last console generation was because that Xbox guy (Spencer?) was all TV this, and TV that, blah blah.

Let's be honest fixing the super dives does effect hitting. You might get 2 or 3 more hits a game that way. Foul balls is the only thing that might be fixed for hitting though. Exit velo randomness has been a problem since 18 and isn't going away

I’m losing hope. Lol. I wonder if they know what problems they have?. Another thing not a bug but try to go through inventory and look at a item or sell it right back to the top. Makes looking for stuff tedious. Maybe that’s intended it was in the game last year.

I’m so happy they’re addressing the dives. It was like every fielder was freaking Superman. I don’t want an aneurysm in my twenties.

SDS

I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought that fielders diving way early and then just lying there as the ball falls into their glove was hilarious. It always reminds me of Smalls' first catch.

But it's good to know that they fixed the transactions log, but not mini-seasons server error. Nice that they have their priorities straight.

Yes sir, you are dead on! 17 was the last game that hitting was consistent. Still the best MLB of all time. IMO.

SDS

So nothing about the Progress Screen not displaying because the last update caused it to crash?

And there is a new program coming out tomorrow that will more than likely involve PXP progress. smdh

I try and present both sides with this game. A lot of time that means there are things I think could be better or need fixed, but sometimes SDS does things right. I know I am in the minority, but I think Update 6 did help foul balls. In no way am I saying it fixed it, but they said they were making a small adjustment and I do think it helped. I think it took it back more to where 21 was at. I know I am striking out more hitters after that update, even though the foul ball issue prevents many that should be. I would love to see another adjustment or two made, but I am completely fine if they do it incrementally to make sure they don't completely break something.

I will also say that I played one event game this morning and the first pitch of the game was a low and in sinker and I hit a hard groundball to the left side with Trout. His SS dove and came up a foot short. It was a much more realistic animation. Obviously small sample size, but it was definitely different. I am interested to see if it impacts outfield dives also. The notes mention "dive in the infield", but I feel the outfield dives have been as big of a problem or even bigger.

SDS

The worst thing seems to be the songs being turned back on.

I have no doubt they tweaked the foul balls a bit, but it's really not noticeable enough to be satisfactory. As for the outfield dives I didn't see them as much of a problem as infield myself. A successful outfield dive required much more precision in when you press the button. The infield dives seemed like you could just dive at any time and stop anything
