Solution for toxic players...
-
I'm proposing a solution that could be "fairly easy" to implement against those m**ons that don't want to play the game properly.
There should be an in-game report button or something like that so that when we face up against someone who thinks is fun to hold R2 every pitches with every hitters for example you just have to hit that and there's a report filed against the player. Then, lets say after 5 or 10 reports from different users he gets banned for a day. Second time it happens, banned for a month. Third time, banned for the rest of the year until the next game goes out.
SDS has to do something radical against those stupid gamers that are there just to be toxic. And I don't even understand why they do that... I mean, they actually pay to do that and there's no point.
The end result is that it is chasing away people that actually want to play the game fair and square, and it chases away new players. I could go on and on about those people but I don't think that there would be anything new to say about them... it's been going on for a long time... Just tonight I had to play 4-5 guys like that... I could put out their names but I don't think it's allowed...
So anyway I'm curious to know your opinions on my idea of banning these guys... I think it would stop many to play like that and if not they will just get kicked out eventually...
-
Terrible idea. It will just get spammed by people who are mad they are losing and you will have a million "wrongfully banned" topics. There are already ways to report people for actually toxic behavior.
-
There would be reports left and right and essentially everyone would be banned at some point.
-
That's why it would need many reports in a certain period of time for having a consequence for those guys (let's say 10-15 or whatever in a day... just an example) People would get that "threshold" if they play stupid, not if they win....

That's simply not true. Do you realize how many spiteful little demons play the game that will report someone the second they throw a pitch in the dirt or score a few runs in the first inning?
-
I see your point but I don't think that there would be enough different users to report THE SAME user if he's not toxic... In what I'm saying there would be no way to spam that.... If you have reported the toxic dude once, you couldnt report again unless you would have to play against him a second time during that time period....

You clearly are not experienced with people

Define "toxic"?

What a terrible idea. Your solution to deal with people who you believe are trolling you is to give them the power to get you banned. You think they wouldn't abuse that? Brilliant. Not to mention the clowns that think if you throw a pitch in the dirt, you're toxic since they can't lay off pitches that are clearly out of the zone. I'm sure they wouldn't report you for that...
If you think there aren't enough people that would abuse your reporting system, then there aren't enough toxic players to justify your solution in the first place. Just play the game. Personally, I love playing people that try to get in my head with nonsense. 99% of the time it means they suck and can't win otherwise. Makes for an easier win.

If the patch notes are to be believed, R2 shouldn’t be an issue anymore.

I appreciate your optimism that they found a solution that will satisfy everyone. Once per pitch for 3 seconds max; is this how long they were doing it to begin with?
-
If SDS thought R2 is cheating or toxic... why would they leave it the game? It's not new.

This. Player Reviews on XBox was/is the dumbest thing ever. Nothing but people who don't know how to play a game efficiently whining because they don't have a sense if strategy or just don't like how someone beat them.

Using R2 every pitch is not toxic if people are using it to set PCI lock. It is a tool for batters to use. I do understand thier are people who misuse the feature but problem is there is no way to determine how person is using it.
So it comes down to two sides of conversation. You either are for or against R2, b/c most people will not understand the fact that R2 is in fact a tool that coincides with PCI lock otherwise you get quick pitching that doesn't allow batter to use new PCI lock feature which would make it counter productive.
-
I don’t like it when people use R2, but there are any number of reasons why they do. As someone else stated, maybe they’re setting the PCI anchor. But maybe they’re extra sweaty and anxious, and need time in between pitches. To me, it is annoying, but not “toxic” and not against the rules.
-
Better idea is to evaluate reports, if a player is found to be toxic just queue the player against people thet have been found toxic in a special server for them.
I don’t know if this can be done.

....but you don't have to push R2 to set your anchor. It's not even that big of a deal... just wait 5 seconds to pitch and it's done. I do it intentionally if somebody is quick pitching me to slow them down. SDS has left this in the game this long, it's not toxic or cheating.

That would require way to much manpower, and since the game already has a ton of issues... not sure that would be the best use of said manpower.

people would just report people to report people.
