Pitch speeds are alllll over the map

I’ve been going into practice on legend and maxed out pitch speeds to try to train my eye on the higher levels. I go into a ranked game, I’m at 750 right now not sure what difficulty that is but the pitch speeds seem 100x faster than the legend difficulty with maxed out pitch speeds. Can’t even remotely catch up with fastballs. This game is just an effing mess, there’s no point in trying to get better.
-
These don't happen according to the 4-5 fan boys on here. Get good.
If you don't know I am only joking. Saw some faster pitch speeds this weekend. Had a lot of trouble recognizing pitches on HOF. No trouble on legend custom practice though. Yesterday early on Newhowser 99 on legend bp and getting blown away by Bumgarner 91 sinker online. Good stuff.

when playing online, we now need to factor in 7-9 different things that affect timing windows?
-
Console - Xbox runs smoother? Switch is choppy? pS is in the middle?
-
next gen 120 V old gen 60 - can I turn off next gen cross play?
-
MLB stadium vs Minor league - MLB laggier, field of dreams choppy.
-
distance from opponent / servers - @D_e_m_I_s_E_PSN can write the dissertation on this one and his warping speeds.
-
time of day - servers laggy at peak times
-
wired vs WiFi, monitor vs TV
-
difficulty - HOF, all star etc
-
Co-Op vs 1v1 play
So one game I can be playing a next gen Xbox player in an MLB stadium on all star, then get matched up against someone on current gen in a minor league stadium w ShitForWifi on HOF

I’m not as well versed with how this stuff works like some of you guys are on here, but if this is true it’s insane. But, it would explain how erratic pitch speeds are in the game. The same pitcher on the same difficulty will feel completely different in back to back games. Timing almost becomes an impossible task.

Play one br game and smash everything. Play a game immediately after and you have to swing as soon as the ball leaves the pitchers hand and even then you are late.
Its connection issues, needs to be connection based matchmaking. Games now days just try to get you in a game as fast as possible instead of finding a quality match. Basically if you spend $150 a month to have 1gb fiber internet you still have to play vs someone with a terrible wifi connection. Why? Idk...

Two things:
It is the easy way to do it.
Their precious east coast streamers wouldn't be able to go 100-5. I watch OhChev religiously and the guy is like 95-8 or something. I rarely see issues in his game. He will complain about a fast pitch maybe like 5 times a game. I can see that in an at bat.
Game could play like offline if they would match make better. I would much rather wait a few extra minutes and get a smooth connection than be put in a game immediately against someone in NY, Boston, Chicago, Florida or other places with trash internet. Coincidentally, almost all places where the alleged servers are located. That is not a mistake.
-
Pitch speeds online is probably my top reason for not enjoying H2H play. You get the right game with the right person where they are normal for AS or HOF great. But you get those games where they are just too fast, then you throw in all the 102 guys, no thanks, I'll stick to CPU.
-
I just wish it was consistent gameplay, I’d take consistency over it actually being a good game as weird as that may sound.

Yeah I’m seeing that too. They are even blazing on mini seasons on rookie. I mean that’s bad when you play a game on HOF then go to a rookie difficulty (supposedly) and the pitches seem to be coming in at 200 mph. I’ve said it before but I don’t understand after all these years of making a game, they haven’t figured this out yet.

I've beat mini seasons several times. It's still beatable but they've changed the sliders or somthing.

it is a game to game issue for sure. Im in Florida, yet still have this issue. One game 100 is hittable, the next game 93 is impossible to hit. Lately I've still been getting poor results on anything unless its PP

It honestly makes me not wanna play the game, which sucks.

Yeah. I was talking about hsll of fame difficulty. Like I said, it's still very beatable, but it feels different this season. That all.
I saw your post about your child getting into that baseball league awhile back. How's he liking it?

Starts June 6th. There’s no camp or anything so I’m guessing it’s going to be two teams scrimmages/simulated games to get the kids to have fun and learn the basics.
He likes having batting sessions in our backyard, but catching is a challenge. He has a good bat and arm because that’s just power and he’s big, but catching he’s having a tough time figuring out glove angles and not being afraid.
He’s anxious because it’s something new; but that’s just who he is; autism is often associated with OCD, and introducing new social outings and changing his rituals always does this. But he always end up enjoying it and progressing socially. We never force him into anything he does want or like, but we do nudge him towards stuff we know he’ll like. His first reaction is always opposition (gets that from me and his age); we keep giving him positive reinforcement.
I made the deal that if he doesn’t like it, we play out the season and I won’t bring it up again next year. But he’ll love it, my wife and I are sure of it.

Man that's awesome. I'm really happy for yall. I wanted my son to play baseball but he chose soccer (I was only slightly devastated) Really any activity with other children is great.
My son and I play baseball in the yard somtimes and he too struggles with catching. He always always wants to turn the glove upside down instead of holding it out in front. I'm sure you son will love it bud, kids love running around lol. I remember just wanting to run haha

Slightly devastated lol. I grew up the only one in my family and circle of friends that liked sports; so I’m hoping but not pushing it. His teacher and special ed told us he’s enjoying basketball and played soccer with standard class 6th graders (he’s in 5th) and had fun.
Anything that’s not hockey ($$$$) is good in my books!
