Dawson and Stage 3 missions

Does anyone know does Dawson count towards these missions?

If it is anything like the other stages then the missions/collections/moments for each stage only count towards the stage that they are a part of.

No, Dawson counts towards part 2. Once you get Rizzo, his stats count towards part 3.

Dawson will count for pxp in stage 3. With him, Joc, Ward and Rizzo it went pretty quickly (as opposed to getting 2500 with just Joc and Ward in stage 2).
Edit - I think he counted anyway. I added up their individual pxp and it matched the total given, but I can't remember if I included the pitcher I used.

He does, there are two repeatable missions on stage 3:
1- 500 PXP with Lightning Rizzo
2- 2000 PXP with April’s Monthly awards hitters (this is where Dawson stats count) his card is for his April’s performance in the 1986 season) -
