I’m trying to do a no money spent squad this year and I’m a casual gamer. So my squad is mid, at best. I tried mini season and my first opponent had 99 Randy Johnson and every top position player available. Roster full of the highest rated player in every position and bullpen.
Don’t want to waste my time if it’s like this with every squad.
There are alot of free cards that will help you be able to compete. Conquest US map, most of prospects play well enough, free diamonds when you complete it, and the Topps now from player of the month are viable cards as well.
Remember also just b/c they have God squad diamonds does not mean they are good. When playing other teams like this from leaderboard the CPU plays off of that players tendencies not the same way vs CPU is played.

Do they. Is there confirmation of this? I don't remember them ever mentioning this.

Just play it on Veteran. You still get Longoria and $10K in stubs no matter what level you play it on.

Do they. Is there confirmation of this? I don't remember them ever mentioning this.
They never mentionned it, but it's clear as day when you see how they behave: sitting on pitch types/locations, spamming inside cutters or sliders vs lefties a foot inside. My last game last week, one of their players fouled off 5-6 straight curveballs in the dirt. The CPU doesn't ususally do this.

They talked about it when they implemented it like 3 or 4 years ago.

I will give example. Lets say you play online and you have Greg Maddux, if he has 1.12 era and you absolutely dot with him that tendancy will transpire into the offline mode. And whatever pitch you use most will be the tendancy it will use.
Same goes with batters if i have Trout and you have Trout, lets say i sit on away pitches with him and you sit on inside pitches, each one will lean more toward tendancy each individual player uses.

is it just set on competitive cpu settings, not casual. that's my guess. Mine is always set on this so any CPU mode they pitch like that. On casual I believe they throw more over the plate constantly

I set to competitive too, but the CPU on Conquest plays like a dumb CPU, not in MS.
