You love comment on these types of posts. Agreed play the game, but they made xp the end all be all so let's not act shocked when people lose motivation to grind when they've maxed out

Except grinding isn't the point of the game. Playing it is.

Strongly disagree. Diamond dynasty is a grind, it's a pursuit of diamond cards. If there were no grinding in DD it would be called franchise or season mode. Or what it's becoming, "everybody gets a trophy mode".
If we wanted to just kick back and enjoy a baseball sim video game than franchise is 100% a better option.
All my opinions of course.

If online franchise existed i would play it in its entirety. However my main goal in DD is to play RS and events, the grind is an afterthought. Its nice to be rewarded but I also don't need to be rewarded for every single thing I do in game.
If anything I'm happy I'm done with the xp program so I can give the middle finger to conquest and every other xp earning mission/moment.
-
See back in my day the only reward you got after playing a good game on the diamond was first choice of pick axe. Got to pick.a good one with a sturdy handle for the 12 hour shift down in the coal mine.

If there are that many people hitting the program XP cap, SDS will extend it in future programs. As they have done in the past.
They already said the next program will have a shorter duration. I’d be surprised if they didn’t keep the 600K cap even with the shorter timeframe.

Leagues just aren't the same you know? I was so bummed when 18 dropped and they removed it.

I guess I assume people that play this game enjoy baseball. Yes DD is meant to be a grind but if you max out then play one of the many other modes (like you mentioned franchise) the game has. Or gasp play a totally different game!
I personally like the amount as I will struggle to hit the max but think I will assuming there's another collection bonus or program coming.

I never played online franchise. How did it work? You couldn't progress your season until the player who controlled the next team was ready to play? Why did they remove it?

Maxing out the XP has actually kept me from starting RTTS. RTTS XP is finite and I don’t want it to go to waste…but [censored] would I like to play the other part of the game I purchased.
I’ll also start a MTO soon, but I’m going to have to pause progression prior to the mid-season evaluation.

There really needs to be an incentive to play the game after you max the main program xp. This was an issue last year, but I thought it was an oversight from the first year implementation.
I by no means am one of the top players, and I have 10 days of the 30-day program where I gain no xp at all for any actions and have no real motive to play until the next program drops. Others maxed out way earlier than that.
It seems it wouldn't be too hard to award increased stubs when xp is maxed, or create an infinite epilogue to the program that awards vanilla packs or stubs every 100k or something after the end goal of the program.
Your players still get PXP, so there's definitely still a reason to play...and its fun. Also the online play still gives rewards, even it is is frustrating, it still gets rewards

The league commissioner could advance it whenever, most leagues were open play so you could play anyone at any time, usually a 20-30 game schedule with 10 or so people, some leagues were different.
Apparently the information they gathered from the duration of 2017 showed that it was one of the least played gamemodes and was also a big hamper on the servers. I firmly believe it would absolutely flourish now with the addition of two new markets.
They need to severely work on franchise before introducing the mode or at the least give more power to the commish. Player regression was extreme and progression was slight to the point you rarely ever saw players with 90+ any attribute other than speed. Starting pitchers never seemed toe exceed 80 h/9 and relievers only ever had a slider 2sm 4sm.
Mike Trout by his age 30 season would already have regressed to like a 92-93 OVR, let alone by age 40 he would be a common. Its really bad.

BR, conquest mystery map, mini seasons, RS, events all Give rewards outside of xp. Plenty of ways to still play and earn things.
I have to submit a complaint about the mystery map. I have done it at least 15 times and not a single diamond, I demand to be put on the good luck list.
That’s hilarious. I’ve got lucky and got a vladdy jr and Trout

I maxed XP. I barely tried. It was way easier than the past.
We'll see how they adjust it going forward, if they feel the need.

Out of curiosity since I'm only sitting at around 110k so far, (just casually play among 2 other games) what mode/program did you play the most or go back and forth between to max within the last 3 weeks?

It is not an oversight. It was only a few year back that the programs stopped at the bosses. Then they added some rewards past the end bosses after getting player feedback.
But the problem is that no matter where they put the finish line there will be those who finish early and complain. Even if they implemented what others have suggested and dropped a 5 pack bundle every 25k after the end of the normal program then people would complain that the rewards were not worth the grind.
I am also pretty sure that they keep track just what percentage of DD players reach the end. I am guessing that number is a fairly small minority. If it wasn't then they would not feel the need to do double XP weekends near the end of every program.
