CPU difficulty is insane

Same here. Normal I hit many hits, runs and Homers. Now I may be glad when I hit a HR.

Yep the level of frustration is very high this year, I play this game from 2010 so practice isn't the problem
Problem is that everything you hit goes straight at a fielder -
It does not seem that different to me. I play on Veteran and only play the offline modes and for me and the way I play it seems about the same.

This year the difficulty when playing CPU teams is off the charts. I’ve been playing on rookie through mini-seasons and am lucky if I get 2 hits a game and I was a pre-order so I’ve been playing for over a week now. The difficulty is especially horrendous on older players like myself. My eyesight and reaction times aren’t what they were 20+ years ago. I tried some RS games and the catcher already had the ball by the time I even saw it lol. Needless to say, I’m primarily a Conquest and this year a Mini-Seasons player, but at this rate, they’ll risk losing an entire generation of gamers because of stuff like this.
What hitting interface are you using? You say older, so I am guessing it maybe timing. If that's the case the problem isn't the difficulty level it's the RNG from using a time based hitting. If you are playing on rookie there should be no reason you can't crush the computer with how large the PCI is. If you aren't using zone. I'd recommend switching to zone, even on rookie you can probably leave the pci right where it is and time it and have more success than what you are having.
If you are using zone, then I got nothing.

I’m right there with you guys. At 48, I just want to come home and relax after dealing with 150 teenagers all day. I don’t want to continue sitting at a desk staring at a small screen. I want to play mlb the show in all its glory and splendor on a big screen. Isn’t that why we play on console? Instead we get to play against a cpu opponent that doesn’t protect with 2 strikes and rarely throws their primary pitch unless it’s a slider or cutter. And this is on rookie or veteran.

Though they have sped up simulations in conquest, I feel like the CPU is throwing less meatballs early in the count this year, causing me to be more patient and take more pitches, making the time sink versus last year about a wash.

stop playing on a TV and get a monitor?
Lol, that part is outdated dude.i just upgraded from a monitor to a tv. Yeah you heard that right. Not too many monitors under 2k gonna beat an LG oled.
On topic, I am going on 45 and love the the CPU being a little more challenging. I could beat all 50 strongholds on All star without losing once last year, I did it many times. This year you have to put a little more effort. I'm still not gonna play below all star as it throws me off, but it's fun not to win 6-0 every 3 inn conquest game

This.
Almost all new tv panels (in game mode) have the same input delay (A.K.A - input lag) as monitors at @60hz (which is what the game plays at). The HDMI input specs dictate this, not the panel's advertised "response time," which is just marketing jargon for a function that deals with screen ghosting, which is a problem of the past.
You can view the different TV's performance ratings at Rtings.com
If you compare the top rated monitor that can only display a 1080P picture @60Hz @12.4ms input lag here >>>> https://www.rtings.com/monitor/tests/inputs/input-lag
...versus the top rated TV that can display an image of 4K 10bit HDR in game mode @60Hz @8.9ms input lag>>>https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/inputs/input-lag
...you can quite simply see that the bottle neck is the game being capped at 60 frames per second, and in that vein TV players are currently playing the game with a better picture at a near identical performance.

Be sure you double check if Difficulty is set to Simulation or Competitive both of these setting will have real life like gameplay!! There is a setting below simulation that will make it easier just forgot what it's called, but maybe switch to that.

This is the only game I play on a monitor. I used to think I was terrible, and never got above division series. Then Covid happened and we had to work from home. My job gave us full computer setups with monitors. So I tried playing on my crappy work monitor. Realize, I have a 4k 60in tv with beautiful game mode, so I didn't expect this POS monitor to improve my performance. The first pitch I saw was an up and in fastball. Usually I'm super late or completely miss, but this time I was early and crushed it foul without cheating up in. Kept using my work monitor after that just for the show. Made WS for first time. And I'm 42 yrs old, 43 in 2 months. Monitor is [censored] near mandatory to get to WS in my opinion.
