I like it. Not everything needs to try and look like a traditional baseball card.

I like this alot, I think having a card series match the special editions of the game is perfect. Last year with the 42 series. It was simple design to match the player and theme now this year we get something completely different then we have ever seen before which matches who Otani is something we have never seen before.
I know there some arguments that this is cartoonish or why use legends for it but man the art is amazing and why not see players from long ago in a different way this is after all a fantasy game mode. Also what a nice touch to do it in black and white mixing the old and the new man this is so good. Can't wait to see more. Griffey card is a must!!!

Heck Drysdale hit Aaron more times than you can count and he never charged the mound. Today there are so many prima-donnas that pitchers get run for hitting guys with curveballs. I guess I'm getting too old for baseball video games when they bring in cartoons or animes or whatever the he11 you want to call it. -

I like that it's different and I think it looks good. I don't mind that the old legends are done this way and I get why they are doing it with the switch and ohtani on the cover.

Stop saying this was done because of the switch, the switch has nothing to do with this, adding an ammine card series because of a system make what sense. This was done as part of a deal to sign on the artist. You are not going to pay an artist X number of dollars for one cover. They made a deal that included additional art to include in the game maybe it was the artist request. Side let's be realy have the player base in this forum are going to pick up a switch version along with a version for one of the home base consoles.

That card art is very similar to art from nintendo switch. With Ohtani on the cover is a big reason why they went with this card art. If you can not see that than you are blind.

LOLOLOLOL well the Boomers started after WWII was over in the 40's. My sister is from the late 40's but I'm from the mid 50's so yeah I'm older than most on here. Probably why I like old school better and don't like the kiddie cards. My opinion only and if others like em so be it.

I'm usually an old school guy though sometimes I think change is appropriate. 10 years ago I hated the DH even in the AL. Now, I have no interest in ever watching a pitcher hit again....unless somehow Bob Gibson (insert your favorite hitting pitcher here) can pick up a stick and take some hacks.
As for this, I see it as nothing more than art. It's a comic book feel to some of history's best players. I think it looks amazing. Now, if they add these animations to the game and Ohtani starts hitting laser fireballs and Mantle has a Typhoon behind him, then maybe I'll question this decision. But if we're talking about one collection of cards, I think it's a nice touch.
But everyone is entitled to their opinion. Obviously.....merica!
